Driftwood Coffee Company
4703 S Alameda St, Corpus Christi, TX
Crema's Take
“This espresso-focused gem in Corpus Christi has earned serious devotion from specialty coffee enthusiasts, with visitors even making road trips from out of state just to grab their beans. The team clearly obsesses over their craft, turning out excellent traditional drinks alongside creative house signatures and cold brew that showcase real flavor complexity. Beyond the coffee itself, Driftwood strikes that rare balance of being both a serious coffee destination and a genuinely welcoming space—with cozy couches and a calm vibe that makes it equally ideal for deep work, meetings, or just lingering with good coffee.”

Driftwood is one of the true rare exceptional places in Corpus. You can tell they absolutely care about their products and how that product is prepared and served. The coffee is excellent, full of flavor, roasted beautifully, and not acidic at all. I usually am a tea drinker, but their coffee is a vice I don't see changing any time soon. I recommend it black with a small bit of honey. Perfect to bring the flavors of both products out.
I’ve been visiting this coffee shop on and off for about a year now whenever I’m in corpus, really wanting to love it, but unfortunately I’ve left feeling disappointed each time. I can genuinely appreciate the passion the staff has for coffee, it’s clear they care about what they do. As someone who has worked at a local coffee shop that roasted its own beans, I recognize the effort and dedication that goes into crafting a good cup. That said, I’ve tried a variety of drinks on the menu over time, hoping to find something that stands out, but the flavors have consistently fallen short for me. Whether it’s the balance, strength, or overall taste, it just hasn’t quite hit the mark. I recently stopped by this past weekend to try their Valentine’s menu with my family. I thought my drink was okay, but my family disliked everything they tried. At this point, it feels like I’ve really given each visit a fair chance, and I’m still not very satisfied. The customer service has also been inconsistent. Sometimes the experience is great and welcoming, but other times it feels like you’re barely acknowledged, with little to no interaction, which can make the visit feel less inviting. I truly respect the enthusiasm and knowledge behind the bar, and I know how much work goes into this craft. I’m hopeful that with some adjustments, both in drink quality and consistency of service, the experience could better match the passion that’s clearly there.
Hubby has been 3 times. For him to drive to CC from PA for coffee and pass up so many place that tells me all I need to know! He brought me home some beans to use with our OWL IYKYK. Even in our RV we want great coffee! Thanks for a wonderful resource for locally roasted beans!
First time coming over to Driftwood Coffee Co and I am excited to share it was great all around. Great communication with staff and the taste of their cinnamon spice latte is perfect. Not overly spicy and not too much milk. Highly recommend giving this place a visit! Didn’t try treats this time but on my next visit I will!
The atmosphere is amazing and calming at the same time. A very chill area for work, studying, or meeting with friends, with tables or comfortable seating like couches to sit on. I ordered an ice brown sugar latte and it has the exact taste I was looking for! The staff is very friendly and I can’t wait to keep coming back and trying what they offer on the menu! Thanks for a great first visit!
