Crema's Take

This beloved Seattle spot has mastered the art of the matcha drink with visibly fresh techniques—they whisk each order to order, which translates to that vibrant, grassy quality that matcha devotees crave. Beyond the matcha magic, their creative seasonal drinks like the Strawberry Matcha Latte and Honey Chrysanthemum Tea showcase thoughtful flavor combinations that keep people returning, though fair warning: the popularity means you'll likely encounter a genuine crowd. Come early or go late to avoid the lines, but know that the quality and care behind each drink makes the wait worthwhile for specialty coffee and tea explorers.

This place was extremely popular and very crowded, which definitely added to the longer wait time. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte. The strawberry purée at the bottom tasted fresh and delicious, adding a nice fruity sweetness to the drink. The matcha itself had a slightly gritty texture, like it wasn’t fully mixed through .. though it was also one of the busiest times there, so that may have played a role. A cute detail I liked was the little daisy flower confection topper that comes with the drink. It’s a charming touch that makes the latte feel extra special and very photo-worthy. Overall, a trendy and fun matcha spot, just be prepared for the crowds and a bit of a wait. 🍓🍵🌼

I saw this place online and decided to give it a try. I’d say it was one of the best strawberry matcha I’ve had, and I’ve tried A LOT. This place was obviously super popular because the line went outside the door when we went, but we got our order faster than expected. And since it was so busy, it was very hard to find a table/place to sit. And it was also super loud as well so keep that in mind. Definitely NOT a work/study cafe. The matcha had a nice and potent. Strawberry puree the bottom + cream top = perfect combo. Every single cup of matcha was hand-whisked too. My bf got a hot hojicha and he really liked it too. I’m not a big fan of hojicha so I have no comment. Overall, I’d definitely come back here again. Prices were a bit high compared to the cup size, but with how good my drink was it was worth it to me.

Came here on my weekend trip to Seattle an it was sooo delicious! The Matcha Einspanner was good, extremely fresh. Stronger matcha profile but I wasn’t bothered. The Honey Chrysanthemum tea was 10/10. Perfect sweetness. Would love to go back just for that.

5/5 for the Matcha Einspanner. I was so reluctant that I finally got to try the matcha here because last time, I was only able to try to Hojicha Banana Pudding Latte (great and nutty, but you need to drink that one very quickly). I was really shocked with how rich the matcha flavor was and it wasn’t overpowered by the oat milk. In fact, they hand whisk the matcha here and blended it well. The cream top was a nice touch to the matcha flavor without taking away the matcha itself. Also very strong in caffeine. Would highly recommend an I felt like the amount was enough and lasted me for about 3 hours of sipping on it. Now… I was so excited they added this to the menu… the SLIDERS!!! I have been dying to try to the Community Goods sliders in LA and tried to recreate it at home, but the star to this is the dipping sauces. Pesto aioli and chipotle sauce. The pesto aioli is my absolute favorite and I ate the entire thing. Not bad pricing either, $13 and I added bacon for an additional $2 (which is fair) and I like how it’s separated because not everyone in Seattle eats meat. Please, cafe Phe, do not take this away from the menu, this is by far a nice touch to the food items, and I would gladly come back for the items! I think the added touch here is the sauces that go with the sliders, that’s what makes the sliders so delicious. Highly recommend!

Quality is great, service is great, and yes they freshly whisk their matcha for each order! Although expect a crowd or at least for it to be busy. First time we went around before they closed, no line but still quite a bit of people around in the sitting area and they ran out of Banana Pudding Matcha so I got the strawberry and my friend got the Coconut water matcha. Second time we went around noon and the line was out the door! The staff handle busy hours super well and kind, kudos to them for doing their best! I was able to get the Banana Pudding Matcha and it was well worth the wait. Although note that if you prefer your matcha sweet or sweeter generally, it was barley sweet at all, but the Matcha itself was good the Banana Pudding itself was super nasty and fresh. The toffee bits compliment it well. (They make the Banana Pudding itself in batches). Otherwise my friend got a Coconut Water Matcha once again, and they seem consistent because they said it tastes the same! The aeshtetic of the inside is also modern, cozy, and cute. Otherwise note that they are a bit on the pricier side.
