The Open Room
407 E Main St, Mahomet, IL
Crema's Take
“The Open Room is a radiant community gathering space flooded with natural light, equally suited for focused work sessions, casual meetups, or special celebrations like birthday parties and graduations. Beyond the reliable coffee and board games, what sets this spot apart is its flexibility—it genuinely welcomes everything from business meetings to Bible studies to creative hangouts, making it feel like a true third place for Mahomet rather than just another coffee shop. It's the kind of venue where you can show up alone with your laptop or reserve it for something meaningful, and the thoughtful hospitality makes both feel equally at home.”

Love the open room! I've been to multiple graduation parties here, had a couple business meetings and came to just enjoy and work. I love how the space has such amazing natural light, is right in the heart of Mahomet and I appreciate the fact that there is wifi too. It's becoming one of the places that I enjoy going so I can get a little work done and be "out of my normal world" for a moment.
An amazing place to do work, study and have business meetings. Would 100% recommend. Drinks on site, activities and board games available and a perfect place to have a private meeting in.
The open room is an amazing resource in Mahomet. It is simply a place where people can meet and talk and have coffee or do a Bible study or I guess in theory you could play dungeons & dragons. It doesn't cost anything. You could sit there and do homework. It is provided by some Christian folks in town. You will find Christian reading material and Bible quotes on the blackboard but you do not have to be any particular Faith or any faith at all to use the open room. My rotary club meets there once a week. It is cozy and comfortable and has nice seating. I'm not sure what hours it is open.
I went to a birthday party here, and it was a very nice space. Really cool place for this community to have!
Beautiful interior. Great accommodations. Parking is limited. But it was a beautiful area to host a small gathering for. We plan on using it in the future.
