Lanikai BBQ Tea House
2737A Hyde St, San Francisco, CA
Crema's Take
“Tucked away in San Francisco's marina neighborhood, this hole-in-the-wall gem serves up some of the city's best Vietnamese BBQ and Hawaiian-inspired food at prices that feel almost too good to be true. Beyond the exceptional food, what keeps people coming back is the wholesome, friendly staff and the inviting atmosphere that makes it perfect for lingering over specialty drinks like their impressive matcha tea selections. It's the kind of place where you'll find yourself discovering something new with every visit, whether you're hunting for traditional Vietnamese flavors or curious about their creative specialty beverages.”

We were working out of town and it was late when we stopped by Lanikai BBQ Tea House. They were already closed, and we were just standing outside reading the menu through the window, trying to figure out our options. To our surprise, they came to the door, unlocked it, and invited us in anyway. They were incredibly kind, friendly, and more than happy to serve us after hours. That kind of hospitality is rare these days. I ordered the chicken and rice, and it was excellent — fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we needed after a long workday. Great food and even better people. Highly recommend! THANKS EDWIN!!
I discovered this restaurant while strolling around the marina. It is by far one of the best BBQ and Vietnamese food I've had in my life. Do not pass up on this hole in the wall. When we ate dinner there was only one other couple eating so service was super quick. We also have ordered take out and they took less than 15 mins to make our food. Most dishes are between $10-13. Not picture are the pork spring rolls. Try them for yourself. Amazing quality. Delicious food. Affordable prices.
Nothing beats the value of this restaurant! Lanikai recently opened in the neighborhood and the one thing I love is Hawaiian style food, so I had to try. Usually I am disappointed by a lot of “Hawaiian” style restaurants, but this place does NOT disappoint! I’ve already been a few times and it has become a place I go to at least once a week. In terms of price, this place is the BEST value in the neighborhood. In terms of food quality, it’s top notch! For under $15, you’ll leave this place looking for a bed or a cot or an empty corner at the Aquatic Park. I highly recommend the Short Rib Plate and the Loco Moco (not together). The spam masubi is excellent and Banh Mi sandwiches are also great. In terms of seating, table space can be limited, but on a nice day, grab your food to go and enjoy the views nearby!
Randomly came across this hidden gem. Great food for really fair price. The staff are super wholesome and friendly too! Easy 10/10
Super good! The best food I had in SF. Great quality with very reasonable price. Recommend to everyone!!!
