The Vin Bin Southboro Cafe

Crema's Take

This Northborough spot blends an unexpectedly sophisticated wine and beer selection with a serious café culture, where handwritten receipts and locally-roasted pastries set the tone for a genuinely curated experience. The food leans creative and fresh—from standout falafel sandwiches to The Donut Stand's brioche-raised offerings that sell out daily—making it equally compelling whether you're settling in for a long sit with espresso or grabbing a bottle of natural wine on your way out. There's a warm, unpretentious family-owned feeling here that keeps regulars coming back multiple times a week, even if the location isn't walkable.

I visited The Vin Bin on Friday 1/31 at 11:30am and unfortunately walked away disappointed. While I usually enjoy their selection, my sandwich was underwhelming; specifically, the Iggy’s Ciabatta bread was noticeably stale and lacked the freshness I expect from this cafe. Furthermore, the service at the pickup counter continues to be a point of friction. The staff member handling to-go orders (an older woman) appeared intentionally avoidant, offering no greeting or interaction before retreating to the back room. Since this isn't the first time I’ve encountered this cold atmosphere, I won’t be returning any time soon. Better quality control and basic hospitality would go a long way.

Not sure why it’s taken so long for me to do a review, as I’ve been coming here for a few years now. I come here at least 1-2x a week. The food is always creative, delicious and fresh. When I want quality food fast, this is my absolute go to. I haven’t had one bad selection yet. To top it off, the employees are super friendly! The location is great and convenient. Only thing I’ll say is, I wish they were open longer!!! :) Otherwise, this place is great in my opinion.

Wonderful place, had an excellent falafel sandwich and bought a cheap and cheerful bottle of Picpoul. Very kind staff (receipts are handwritten), and nice vibe. Too bad it’s not in a walkable location.

Great selection of beers, wine, cheese, and amazing amazing food. You could never go wrong here. Now they have New City ice cream pints!!! Amazing local family owned business.

The Donut Stand in The Vin Bin Café is a local hidden gem. Their donuts have a nice brioche raised dough and they have amazing flavours. Go early or order in advance because they sell out fast.
