Controversial Coffee

Great coffee, great croissant sandwiches, great fun, great activism. Love the work they are doing in their community. Their support for our unhoused neighbors especially hit home for me. We stopped in to support a queer owned business and ended up finding our new favorite coastal cafe for brunch, selfies, and play a game of cribbage.

First time here as my boyfriend and I were in town for a small birthday trip for me and I wanted to try their chai as I love chai and I know every place makes it differently. The chai was very tasty along with my tiramisu. My boyfriend got a smoothie and a danish which he enjoyed. Grem (cool name btw!) was patient as they took my boyfriends order only to find me distracted by the pins they had for sale (sorry 😅) Ended up buying a keychain and sticker! We also bought 2 brownies and 2 cookies to save as snacks for later because they looked too good to pass up. They were in fact delicious snacks. Will definitely be back when we come to town next! (And I will try not to get distracted by pins next time but no promises ☺️)

A cozy little spot with really good coffee. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and I love that they offer a “pay it forward” option, it adds a thoughtful touch to the experience. A great place to stop by for a cup of coffee and a bit of kindness.

This was such a fun stop for my boyfriend and i on our trip to the coast! A+ meme game, funny drink names, very lgbtq+ friendly. Sadly we only got coffee, not food, but the coffee was amazing!!

What more can I say about Controversial Coffee?! It is the best coffee on the Oregon coast (serving Sleepy Monk coffee)! They have drinks, snacks, merch, stickers, photo ops, clothing donation, games, plenty to look at, and places to sit. They are kind, professional, friendly, inclusive, knowledgeable, and quick every time we visit. Wish I had one of these where I live, but alas, it just makes it that much more special when we visit.
