The Corner Store
753 Nostrand Ave, Crown Heights, NY
Crema's Take
“This Crown Heights gem shines brightest as an evening destination where creative cocktails and genuinely warm hospitality take center stage—owner Kai has created a space so welcoming that customers feel comfortable asking for favors, and the bartenders are known for being engaging and skilled. While the coffee and breakfast options are hit-or-miss, the standout pastries like tres leches French toast and creative cocktails (with occasional live music) make it a reliable spot whether you're settling in for an afternoon work session or coming back for drinks and good vibes later.”

I love this place! Great spot to work from in the afternoon or grab a drink at night. The owner, Kai, is amazing. She was super accommodating when I needed a restaurant to shoot a short comedy sketch and even reserved the back area for us. Highly recommend for the food, drinks and the general atmosphere, and will always support a business run by such nice people.
Rating is high because the drinks are good, good, good. The only thing I dislike more at this restaurant other than the very very blend tasteless food is the fact they made the bartender a waiter, a server, a baristas, and clean up crew. In short the service SUCKS and not the fault of the employees. It’s only 2 people working a WHOLE bar/restaurant. I live around the corner so I figured I could make the corner store my “corner store” while I do laundry get a nice meal and hangout. But I legit almost choked on the Caesar salad with no dressing. And of course there is no anchovies in the Caesar salad. Hands down, 10 toes deep into the sand, in this current state a ACTUAL CORNER will serve me better. AS A MATTER OF FACT, I love the rice over lamb at the corner store on the opposite corner off this poser restaurant. Lastly, the brand of this corner store restaurant is UPSCALE corner store and by the way they treat the staff like modern SLAVES. The only thinking upscaling are those PRICES. I really do not like this restaurant. I want it gone so bad sis/bro/gals I won’t loose sleep over it but WOW terrible terrible terrible FOOD. 2/10 one star for the each there that day
The tres leches French toast is superb. The bacon, eggs & cheese croissant was also delightful. Aside from that, their brunch/breakfast options are very limited and the coffee isn't that great!
A newer favorite in Crown Heights. Always a chill scene, great people behind the bar, solid drinks, and the music never misses. They also serve you food and coffee if you’re that way inclined. Go spend your money there.
Easily one of my favorite recent bars. The drinks are excellent, the aesthetics are nice, there's live music (it's sooo good, the saxophonist was killing it) and the bartenders are friendly. The nutcracker and the lychee drinks were both so well prepared. If you're in the neighborhood, this is the spot.
