Cafe Con Papi
495 E 6th St, Reno, NV
Crema's Take
“Café con Papi is a quietly charming Cuban café tucked away in Reno that's earned its stellar reputation by going genuinely above and beyond for guests—whether you're escaping a snowstorm or looking for something beyond standard coffee shop fare. The real magic happens with their creative specialty drinks like the Pumpkin Horchata Latte and horchata-infused café con leche, where house-made syrups and unexpected flavor combinations (agave, condensed milk, cucumber mint) elevate each cup into something memorable. It's the kind of place where families linger over breakfast, friends celebrate together, and travelers find an unexpectedly warm refuge.”

I stopped in for breakfast and coffee during a work trip—22 degrees and snowing—and Café con Papi was warmly, reliably open. Without getting into details, the team went above and beyond for me today and delivered genuinely world-class hospitality. The least I can do is leave a strong review for a great local small business. The quiche and the plátano latte were both excellent. The vibe is relaxed and refreshing, with a cozy, welcoming feel. They also have free Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets if you need to get work done. This is officially my go-to coffee shop in Reno. Thanks to everyone at Café con Papi!
This is my first time making a stop at Café cón Papi. So glad I did! Run (don’t walk!) to try their Pumpkin Horchata Latte. Great balance in flavor of both. The spice in the horchata completes the flavor of the pumpkin. I did ask for 1/2 sweet because I prefer not overly sweet drinks. Best way to warm up on a cold morning!
Very pleasant place The coffee is ok One should probably go for their special drinks - with agave, with condensed milk, bananas etc. a not latte - just ok.
I'm always looking for local fair. It is within my idea of walking distance from the Renaissance Hotel. I found this quiet out of the way cuban Cafe here in Reno. Wasn't sure how I felt about it at first. But when I came inside I was pleasantly surprised. It's very low key, comfortable and clean. Plus they offer free wifi. I didn't try the pastries, but they looked good. I ordered a café de olle hot. It is creamy, smooth, lightly sweetened and has a touch of cinnamon. It was delicious. Jose the owner was super nice and helpful. He is also the barista. Iza, the cashier is super sweet. She's new but I wouldn't have guessed it. I'll come back next time I'm in town to try the other drinks and pastries. In the meantime, ¡Salud!
My bff and I loved this place! Everything we ordered was delicious. I got the cafe con horchata and Maria’s toast, and my bff got the cucumber mint agua Fresca and tica toast.
