Joe'z Bayside Market and Cafe
2919 Fuhrman Ave E, Seattle, WA
Crema's Take
“Joe'z Bayside Market and Cafe is a genuine neighborhood gathering spot where the smash burgers are genuinely excellent—locals consistently rave about the perfectly crispy patties and quality bun—and the breakfast game is equally strong with generously portioned burritos featuring fresh avocado and bacon. The vibe here is unhurried and welcoming, with staff who make you feel like a friend stopping by rather than a customer, making it the kind of place where you'll want to linger over coffee and conversation on a grey Seattle morning.”

Dropped in for breakfast on a grey morning. Friendly service and great food - we shared the breakfast burrito with avocado and bacon between two of us and it was plenty! The dipping sauce was great. Coffee was excellent - really nice caramel roast. I will say it felt very expensive - $38 for two coffees, one burrito with tip. Likely a one-off treat for this reason!
I’ve tried around 20 burgers in the Seattle area. This had potential to be one of the better burgers I’ve tried. The bun is great, pickles have a great crunch, I like the onions and the texture of the shredduce. But dear god I nearly got hypertension from that burger. Extremely salty, but only in patches. One bite was like teaspoon of salt, the next one was bland. No idea what happened there. I’m doubly confused because the other negative reviews either mention the patty is bland or overly salty. Clearly a consistency issue so keep that in mind. Tater tots are just frozen tots. Crispy but these tasted a bit like the oil could use a change. Solid, laid back service. Pretty expensive but that’s Seattle. Nail down the seasoning and it could be a really good burger.
Love this neighborhood joint. You can grab outstanding smash burgers, wood fired pizza (technically a separate business but same place), and then and they stock a handful of great wines and some other pantry staples. Came in recently to grab a burger to go and also wanted a slice. No slices available (because they were busy) so the gentleman kindly offered me some free fresh fries. Of course, the fries were delicious! Smash burger (even after driving home) has wonderful crisp lacey edges.
Joe’s Bayside Market is an absolute hidden gem and easily home to the best burger I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was beyond kind — genuinely friendly, helpful, and welcoming in a way that feels rare these days. You can tell they truly care about their customers and take pride in what they do. Now, the food… wow. The Ohklahoma burger was completely off the charts. Perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and stacked just right — every bite was better than the last. This is the kind of burger you think about long after you’ve finished it. The fries were just as impressive: crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and served hot and fresh. No soggy fries here — just absolute perfection. The seating area was clean, comfortable, and inviting, making it a great place to sit down and actually enjoy your meal instead of rushing through it. On top of that, the market itself is absolutely adorable. It’s a small, charming space where you can grab everyday essentials like toilet paper, peanut butter, olive oil, and other necessities — which just adds to the convenience and neighborhood feel. Joe’s Bayside Market isn’t just a place to grab amazing food; it’s the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again. Outstanding burgers, perfectly cooked fries, exceptional customer service, and a cozy, well-kept environment — this place checks every box. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic meal and a genuinely pleasant experience. 🍔🍟
I was invited to eat here with a couple of friends. So happy I came. I had the smash burger, it was delicious and perfectly smashed and crispy. My friend had a fresh baked gluten free bun on her burger and my other friend had the vegetarian curry burger, no bun. We were all content. With our burgers, we got a ceasar salad, house made fries and a cookie. I’ll be back. Yum.
