“Petit Pierre Bakery is a beloved Phinney neighborhood institution where traditional French technique shines through in every flaky, buttery croissant and thoughtfully crafted pastry—locals consistently call them the best in Seattle. The small, cozy space with its handful of indoor tables and outdoor seating makes it an ideal quick stop for coffee and a fresh pastry, or a comfortable spot to linger over a meeting with friends and family. What sets this place apart is the genuine care evident in every bite, from their showstopping plain croissants that reveal true craftsmanship to creative offerings like their white chocolate and coconut cronuts.”

I came across this bakery in my search for slices of cake. I cannot say enough about the flakey, buttery, flavor filled pastries! This place is going to become one of my regular stops when I’m looking for treats. Thank God I do not live down the block from this place. The old me would have eaten the whole box of pastries in one sitting. The new me will do it in two days hopefully three if I can control myself. If you want to test your self control as a sweetaholic this is the. Hats off to one of the best bakeries I have come across in Seattle. Thanks!
The cutest and bestest French pastries! You can always tell by the plain croissant what kind of bakery this is - it is beautifully buttery, flakey, airy as can be! The traditional techniques are married perfectly with inventive flavour pairings. Just wonderful! We had the quiche lorraine, breakfast croissant (a must!), ham & cheese croissant. These were so good we brought home more baked treats - the strawberry cruffin & cardamom rose water pistachio pastry was to die for. Can’t wait to come back and try more new things!
So good! You can really tell how much care they put into both their savory and sweet pastries. Everything tastes thoughtfully made, balanced, and fresh, definitely a spot that takes pride in what they do. I’ll be back for more. 🥐✨
My white chocolate & coconut cronut was divine. and the lox & cream cheese croissant was also delightful. I wanted to have my pastries there but it was too busy.
Just wow. Hands down best croissant -- texture and flavor -- in town. Came across the Phinney institution one day on the way to yoga. There are half a dozen tables inside, more outside if you are dressed for the weather. Expect a line but don't be deterred the line is quick. Brought my parents here bc my elderly dad loves a good almond croissant. He was not disappointed. Probably bc Pierre the bakery chef (who happened to be in the bakery that day and yes, he is actually French, with accent and passionate about croissants) is friendly and genuinely very passionate about baking the perfect croissant that delivers the ideal texture, crisp flakiness, and flavor of a single croissant. We returned the next morning so that dad could try the tuna croissant which was a veritable embarrassment of protein -- exactly what the doctor ordered for my elderly father -- and my mom could have the avocado toast with a poached egg and fresh arugula. That is actually one of our favorite items ($13) there but folks who can't handle hard bread crust should be advised to go with a croissant based item. We ordered the lemon curd fresh fruit danish, the Reuben croissant has excellent corn beef inside as well as the perfect pair of petite cornichon on top (the attention to this detail is important because they don't put one but two of the small pickles which is exactly the right amount when you're having an entire Reuben croissant. One would not have been enough so you feel a kind of gratitude for the generosity of two. This is the kind of attention to detail that when you over to this bakery). The PNW salmon and cream cheese croissant is delicious and it is covered with black sesame seeds. The pain au chocolat is very good but what is better is the pistachio pain au chocolat with both pistachio paste baked in as well as crushed pistachio covering the top. It's an inspired pastry, and I highly recommend recommended if you have never tried it. It competes very seriously with the almond croissant which is beautifully baked with the almond paste inside and slide almonds with powdered sugar on the outside. On different visits I've had the raspberry preserve-filled beignets as well as the Nutella-filled beignets. We returned for a third morning because my parents, who are visiting from out of town, know a good thing when they taste it. This time my mom decided to try the bacon and egg croissant and was not disappointed -- it's the French croissant answer to a breakfast sandwich, but more buttery and delicious with a whole egg baked in and wrapped around it a thick slice of bacon. The cold brew is delicious, and though you may have to wait a few minutes for the coffee is extremely satisfying to drink a latte or drip from a real cup and saucer. If you know you know. Because my son is a fan of lemon meringue tarts, I can tell you from having ordered it a few times for him, it's worth every bite. I have not yet tried the cinnamon bun but it is slathered in the right kind of cream cheese frosting and catches my eye every time. What I have tried is the Apple strudel and it is delicious every time. Large enough to share. Most of the items are -- but in truth they're really so good you don't want to. Two words of caution would be: if it's your first time be prepared to want to try five more things than you thought you would. And don't be surprised, or judge yourself, if you wind up walking out with a box of four extra croissants to take back for the people you care about. Also, avocado toast is incredibly well stacked with fresh smashed avocado and cherry tomatoes, etc. but the bread that is used, as delicious as the crust is, can be quite hard (and those with dental issues may find it challenging) it cannot be cut with one of the plastic knives so ask the kitchen to cut the toast in half. Parking is what it always is on Greenwood Avenue in the Phinney area. Try the neighborhood parking off the main street to find a good spot. The staff like Sophie and Stephanie are very friendly and thoughtful as they take your order or cash out.
