Crema's Take
“Andy's Local Market in San Rafael is a charming neighborhood gem that doubles as both a carefully curated grocery destination and a genuine community gathering spot, with a particularly strong reputation for freshly made deli sandwiches and an inviting outdoor patio that hosts live music. While coffee isn't their primary focus, they offer traditional drinks alongside quality pastries and light fare, making it an ideal spot to linger over a cup with friends or catch local entertainment. The warm, unpretentious atmosphere and commitment to fresh, local ingredients—from the butcher counter to the wine selection—gives the whole experience a distinctly personal touch that keeps locals coming back.”

One of the best super markets I think I've ever been to. It's awesome and offers so much. Definitely has your go to general grocery items but also has an awesome butcher department with friendly knowledgeable employees. There's a wonderful fresh salad bar. The specialty items are unique, fun, and delicious. What a gem of a store for the community.
Sandwich was good, the bread was chewy tho for the rueben sandwich. Is it normal for this meat to have a rainbow hue? The store reminded me of a wholefoods. Nice seating area at the bar or outside. Saturdays live bands. Right next to the marina. If you have kids, can go to pirate park nearby.
We love this local market! The sandwiches are to die for and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. They also have great selections of produce, grab-n-go's, and cheeses for our gift baskets. You can also walk the waterfront, which is a big bonus for us!
I happen to be in the area to visit the marina. As I drove down into Loch Lomond Drive, I noticed Andy’s Local Market. The Market was hosting a live music concert in the outdoor patio and it was just wrapping up. Andy’s bar and BBQ was open. I went inside to grab a cold non-alcoholic drink, they tons of options to choose from. They had a deli counter, a self serve food counter, coffee bar, and groceries. There were store made, packaged sandwiches and sides. It was a compact grocery store compared to corporate chains. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. The store interior was clean and modern. I bought a bottled drink and some garlic cheese bread from the self serve counter. We sat outside in the patio overlooking the marina to eat the bread. The crowd dispersed by then. But the bread, as lovely as it looked was hard as granite, beyond even usable for croutons. They went straight into the trash. Overall great local market. Convenient for visitors to pick up picnic items before heading to the beach or park.
This is one of the nicest lean little community markets I have been to. The deli items are freshly made at the location, the produce section is clean, and the wine section had very educated wine advisors to make recommendations based on your personal preferences and taste. They even have a hopping happy hour. I was surprised to see how it is more of a community gathering place for people of all ages.
