Milkcrate Cafe
400 E Girard Ave, Philadelphia, PA
Crema's Take
“Tucked into Philadelphia with a distinctly cool vibe complete with vinyl records and thoughtful music, Milkcrate Cafe excels as a neighborhood gathering spot where the staff genuinely cares about getting your order right and making moments memorable. Their strength lies in unhurried mornings—solid breakfast, brunch, and lunch offerings paired with espresso drinks that actually shine when made with quality milk alternatives like oatmilk. It's the kind of place where you'll linger over a chai-espresso hybrid and good company, though consistency with basic orders can occasionally falter.”

I really want to love Milk Crate... it's cute, it's close by, but unfortunately they can't get even the most basic coffee orders right. I always ask for cream, and at least half of the time, I get none. Giving up 🤷♀️
Milkcrate is a great time. I miss the old breakfast burrito but they’re awesome people and it’s still a killer spot for breakfast/brunch/lunch.
The service at Milkcrate was excellent! I am so grateful for Michael—he truly helped me make my best friend’s birthday extra special. I surprised her with a gift card for milk cakes (exactly what she was craving!), even though I live in Delaware and she’s in Philly. Michael was calm, patient, and incredibly kind as he helped me figure out the best way to pull it all off from a distance. My friend was absolutely thrilled. Thank you so much for your kindness, Michael—you sparkle ✨
Very cool place. Staff was very nice and the food was solid. I had a chai with espresso and oatmilk, it was excellent! While I waited another patron was explaining to their date how the Strokes influenced every modern rock band. They really liked Room on Fire. I would definitely go here again maybe on a week day when its a little less busy to browse their records.
A restaurant Cafe venues With sandwiches and breakfast, good music, vinyl records. Excellent atmosphere. The customer service representatives was excellent, professional and helpful highly recommended for great time, great food and great coffee
