Crema's Take
“Pop Pie Co. is a charming neighborhood spot that pairs exceptional house-made pies with quality Provecho coffee, creating the perfect excuse to linger over both a slice and a cup. The warm, family-friendly atmosphere and thoughtful service make it feel like a place where locals genuinely want to spend time, whether you're diving into a comforting savory pot pie that tastes like Thanksgiving or indulging in creative sweet pies like their beloved ube pandesal ice cream flavor. While the execution can occasionally miss the mark, the genuine care in their food and coffee keeps people coming back to this San Diego gem.”

Not 5 stars, but maybe an off day. The food here is delicious and the ice cream as well. The food I got was the steak and ale pie. Very delicious and tasty but was dry. It took away the pleasantry of the pie, but still was very good. The ice cream I had was the Ube and toffee, also very delicious. The reason it is one of their best sellers. I have had their ice cream before (a different flavor) and wasn’t impressed but this flavor made up for it. The apple pie was also a hit for me. Parking can be an issue, but that’s not their fault. Your visit may include a bit of walking, perfect to burn off those ice cream calories.
Always loved the food service and atmosphere! It's not the cheapest but you're well taken care of and enjoy your time. We had both savery and sweet pies, ice cream, and a latte. Great spread!
Tried this spot for the first time yesterday. Purchased the veggie pot pie and ube pie. Let me just say the 1st bite of that pot pie took me straight to Thanksgiving dinner. I taste turkey, dressing, and gravy. You would never think that you were eating mushrooms and brussel sprout with other veggies. I almost turned my car around to go get another one because that 1 did not make it home. The crust was so flaky, soft and delicious. Loads of crust with every bite. Will definitely be going back again to try the other items on the menu. 😋 the ube pie with the coconut meat was also good. Do not second guess or hesitate. Make your way there to get a full, delicious meal.
Love that Pop Pie and Stella Jeans opened this new location. (Perfectly close to Albert Einstein Elementary!) delicious! I’ve been a fan of the Ube Pandesal ice cream flavor for a couple years now, but it has been outshined by the GENIUS Baklava Cheesecake. **PLEASE make this part of your permanent rotation! It’s so good. I’ll bring all my friends!**
Stopped by this morning for some coffee and pie. Absolutely love that they use Provecho! Coffee beans, so I already knew the coffee was going to be good. The pie was great , had the corned beef and cabbage pie , even my toddler loved it. They also have sweet pies and quiche. Will definitely be coming back to try other things like ice cream which looked so good and have unique flavors! They have frozen pies that you can buy to cook at home and also prepackaged ice cream. Lots of seating area inside and friendly staff :)
