Crema's Take
“Afters is a cozy Squirrel Hill gem that's won hearts with its thoughtfully curated atmosphere and genuinely kind owners who clearly pour care into every detail, from their signature homemade syrups in creative lattes to their exceptional baked goods. Late evening hours make it a rare refuge for coffee lovers seeking a slow, comfortable space to settle in, and the espresso-focused menu combined with quality pastries and light food means you'll find something special whether you're stopping by for a quick pick-me-up or lingering with a laptop for the evening.”

I'm always excited about another coffee option in Squirrel Hill. Afters has the added advantage of late evening hours (something which I absolutely adore in a coffee spot and feel is often a missed niche in Pittsburgh) and primo location on Murray Ave within walking distance of the movie theater and restaurants. Definitely well-lit and I do appreciate some of those colorful 'cute' touches that try to give this place a little flair. Seating is a bit tight, but there are a couple of small tables and a section that works better for single seats (great for people working or studying). Good power outlet options, another fixation of mine with coffee shops. Coffee itself was not special, pretty generic, not super flavorful. There are some really wonderful spots introducing a Middle Eastern profile to the coffee menu in Pittsburgh these days, and this one just does not compare. Food/bakery didn't have a very remarkable selection either.
I really liked the Afters Latte here, great homemade syrups, really nice staff and great vibe too. Not a ton of seating but nice and cozy, with a lot of different food options too! My real issue is how insanely expensive the drinks are. $7+ for a small iced latte is so ridiculous and while I think it was really tasty, I just can’t see myself coming here often. Love the late hours and everything else, and I love supporting new small business, but I hope they adjust their pricing in the future.
Such a sweet coffee shop with the kindest owners! The coffee and their baked goods are absolutely to die for. You can tell they put ample amount of time and well thought out energy into their environment and it creates such a wonderful vibe upon entry! I wish I lived closer to it because I would be there all the time to study and get work done, the most perfect place!
The vibes inside of this coffee shop are immaculate! It feels very cozy and comfortable, and it’s a great place to have a slow morning. The coffee tastes great! I got an iced americano with oat milk and their house vanilla syrup. I also had pomegranate Turkish delight which was delicious!
A friend and I stepped into this coffee shop, and we were taken aback by the comfort level of this shop as soon as I stepped inside. The colors, the mood, the space in and of itself, and the sweet barista Mia! Afters didn't miss a thing. We sat at the front window seat, leather couch and enjoying our coffee conversations and sweets for an unexpected 2 hours! Even then I didn't want to leave! The cofounders Joe & Ryan def put their magic touch on this coffee shop, and only 3 weeks old. It's always a plus when the owners support our local businesses! The fact that it's one of my favorite local coffees "19 coffee" and pastries from the local Lebanese bakeries, has me wanting to be a "regular" ha! I have to return sooner than later and want to try the smoothies and refreshers! I think there will be multiple trips to this shop in the near future! *Extra Bonus* ~ this shop is open 7 days a week from 8a-11p!
