Banh Mi 47
74 N Pearl St Suite 5, Albany, NY
Crema's Take
“This beloved Albany spot nails the fundamentals of authentic Vietnamese banh mi, with reviewers consistently raving about the standout bread—crispy, thin-crusted exterior with an impossibly light interior that elevates every sandwich. Beyond the sandwiches themselves, it's a genuine neighborhood gem that feels authentically Vietnamese, whether you're grabbing a quick $8-10 lunch or settling in to linger over fresh-brewed green tea boba, all at prices that feel almost too good to be true.”

Great sandwiches. Service is quick and the food is tasty. Sandwiches range from $8-10. It's a hard deal to beat for a nice sandwich on fresh bread. Recommend.
My experience was nice and felt authentic. With familiar flavors, the first bite into my Vietnamese sandwich gave me flashbacks of the all familiar place I call my second home. Art work on the wall was welcoming, giving me a feeling of pride. With just a street in Saigon to a street in Albany NY, I immediately felt a connection. I got a good idea while I sat and ate my Vietnamese sandwich(with flashbacks of my second home). I thought, “could I help make this owner the best cup of cafe su da from Albany to Vietnam? 🤔 “
The #4 (BBQ pork) and #5 (pork meatballs) are a tasty value at $8.34 each (plus tax). The bread is soft with a very light crust. The green tea boba is likewise reasonably priced at $5 for a large.
I was born and raised in Vietnam, and i have a standard to my banh mi. I’ve tried many banh mi shops in the U.S but Banh Mi 47 is by far my favorite. The bread is the star here! The crust is thin and fluffy just like a banh mi should be! Probably the most authentic bread i’ve ever had! You cant just slaps some cold cut meat on a bread anh call it banh mi, no! It has to be thin, chewy, fluffy and flavorful. They give a proportional amount of filling to compliment the bread too. Cold cut ham banh mi is my favorite. I still dream about their banh mi sometimes. The service is friendly and the shop is very clean, seems very cozy too.
I'm so happy we have a Banh Mi sandwich shop in our neighborhood. The bread is light and flakey, loaded with fresh ingredients which makes for delicious sandwiches! We got the BBQ pork and the Lemongrass Chicken, I favored the pork with rich BBQ taste. Not pictured but I got their pork stuffed puffs and they were awesome. I don't know too many places that serve Vietnamese Coffee, it's strong but beautifully blended with the condensed milk for the perfect afternoon pick me up.
