Crema's Take
“This Millcreek neighborhood gem has earned its stellar reputation as a genuinely welcoming third space, with staff who make everyone feel at home and a thoughtful pride flag that signals their commitment to community. Whether you're settling in for hours of focused work, meeting a friend, or exploring their espresso and pour over offerings, you'll find beautifully executed coffee that pairs perfectly with their excellent toast and surprising touches like wine and cheese options—all without the pretension that sometimes comes with specialty coffee.”

Super friendly staff and a wide variety of drink options for all taste preferences. I had a cortado and a pour over and enjoyed both!
oh how i love 3 Cups. First, love the pride flag- don't ever change that. this has consistently been a welcoming space for all. It has been my neighborhood coffee shop and at times solace for the last 8 years. You'll find me there most early Sunday mornings. They have such good small bites, larger plates, and really good coffee. It's also kinda like Cheers, because everyone behind the counter seems to magically know your name. I have liked the addition of the the King's English's satellite and new arrangement of tables to accommodate more folks. This next bit, though, is going to be a hot take: the new tables are really ruining the vibe for me. Not the quantity but the design. One or 2 would be fine but a whole row of busy, highly colorful (which, I know, I know) tables feels so disquieting and anti-3 Cups minimalism that lends to such a calm environment. I understand that it's come under new ownership so if this is your vision, so be it. I know there are a lot of families who come here especially on the weekends- so they make sense up to a point. If I had one, my toddler's items would get lost on these tables. They are also going to be hard to tell if they're actually clean or not with how busy (design-wise) they are. I think if more color was wanting to be added, I would say open up the wall space for a rotation of local artists (like myself, though I am way too self conscious to ever put my work out there). Or put the same pattern on all the tables- you could even vary the color, just maybe more muted or even jewel or earth tones? At the end of the day, I'll still be coming here. Table designs don't change the fact that there are wonderful people who work here and the quality of the coffee and nosh are the same. It's really the main reason I come here. I just might bring a white tablecloth for wherever I sit. I also hope to meet the new owners to personally say, "welcome to the neighborhood!"
I love this place, some of the best coffee in the SLC area in my opinion. The atmosphere is perfect for studying and the food is delicious. 9/10 the staff is super friendly! However there’s a lady with greenish/turquoise hair who took my order and did not seem like she wanted to be there at all, didn’t pay attention when I was ordering, and just tainted my experience. Still love 3 Cups though :)
This is one of my FAVORITE spots to bring my laptop and knock out tons of work. I’ve liked all the toasts I’ve tried here. I also appreciate the community bulletin. :) The best part? Top notch service—made my day. 🍞 💖
I love coming to 3 cups! It’s a great alternative spot to work, have some wine & cheese or meet up for coffee. They have a great selection of drinks and food! And don’t skip the gelato. I love supporting local especially in my neighborhood.
