This roastery in Eau Claire nails the craft of both coffee and hospitality, where baristas remember you feel like family and creative drinks like the Minnesota Spice and With Oomph showcase real flavor ambition beyond the standard menu. The space itself draws people in for lingering conversations and meetings, backed by thoughtfully made pastries and baked goods that match the care you'll taste in every cup. If you’re looking for a coffee spot that feels just as good as it tastes, Ember and Bean is truly something special. ☕✨ From the moment you walk in, you can tell this isn’t just “another café.” Jess is truly a coffee connoisseur, and together with Jon, they have such a refined, sophisticated palate. It really shows in every cup the baristas serve. You can taste the care and intention behind the beans Jess and Jon choose and the way everything is brewed. What makes Ember and Bean even more special, though, is the heart behind it. Jess truly puts her heart and soul into this place, and you can feel that the moment you walk in. Their family-oriented atmosphere is so warm and welcoming, and they’re incredibly easygoing. You instantly feel like you belong there. Their beautiful family energy shines through in everything they do, from the space they’ve created to the home brews they share. My husband and I were some of their very first customers, and to this day their coffee only tastes better and better, which says so much about their consistency and passion for what they do. It’s the kind of place where quality meets genuine connection, and that’s rare. Highly recommend stopping by if you appreciate amazing coffee and even better people. Please bring back the Tall Dark and Handsome!

I had a lovely dairy-free Minnesota Spice and it was delicious! The flavors were well-balanced and the barista was kind. I also wanted to try the With Oopmh, it sounds so tasty. Next time!

Amazing, amazing, amazing coffee and bake goods. The staff are so friendly and make you feel like family. They have some really unique drinks, and the food is fantastic—definitely try the protein energy balls, two thumbs up! Highly recommend this spot for anyone in Hudson.

I popped in here today on this cold rainy morning and grabbed a hot chai. The chai was good with an emphasis on the spice! I liked their mugs too. The gals working were super chill and friendly. Shout out to the barista who topped my chai off with a little more milk before I grabbed it, good vibes. The shop had a super warm and inviting feeling. The chairs were remarkably comfy as well. I feel like some coffee shops overlook their seating and sometimes this is half the experience for me. I want to be comfortable while I am sipping on something warm in the fall or year round for that matter. They have bench, chair and stool seating. The seating of the chairs and stools are like a leather fabric in a lattice style pattern (a similar style to that of a good apple pie) so you perfectly sink into it versus a hard wood base. I also noticed they had a seasonal cardamom latte which I could see myself coming back for, and I am not really even much of a coffee person! There is paid street parking but if you go east about a block away from the shop, there is a larger parking lot with up to 4 hours of free parking. The shop is also a little smaller and was almost full on a Tuesday morning but people were coming and going so I think you should be able to find a spot.

We were on our way back home, from Minneapolis to Milwaukee. This coffee shop was in our Wisconsin Coffee Passport booklet, so we decided to give it a try. It was a little confusing finding the place, since it's located in the rear. It's a cute spot, with a beautiful view of the St. Croix River. If we had time, we would have gone down to the water to enjoy our beverages. They have several large tables outside. Inside, there are a few seats in the main area, which can be a little loud. You'll find additional seating beyond this space, and those areas were quieter and great for conversations. There were several other people/orders ahead of us. The staff taking the orders was friendly and patient. We ordered a London Fog (a little lavender, a little vanilla, extra foam) and a coffee latte. I watched as they made the drinks, and you could tell that these folks cared about each one. They didn't rush the London Fog — taking the time to steep it just right, and again, taking time with frothing the milk. It was a pleasure to watch. Both drinks were very good! Not sure when we will be back through, but would love to stop again.
