The Goat Coffee House
336 Water St, Eau Claire, WI
Crema's Take
“This espresso-focused spot near campus has carved out a loyal following with its quiet, contemplative atmosphere and impressive tea selection that rivals the coffee program. The Goat wins over visitors with genuinely skilled drinks and a laptop-friendly vibe that makes it perfect for settling in with work or meeting friends, though some regulars lament that service consistency has slipped in recent times. Come for the serious espresso and curated pastries, but give yourself time to enjoy the relaxed street-view experience without expecting to leave fully satisfied on food alone.”

Good coffee! I got a caprese sandwich. Overall it was good, but it was kind of small and bland. I wished I could have put salt on it and I was still hungry after. When you walk in it doesn’t look like there is much seating, but the building is actually quite deep and there are more seats in the back. :) I will be back for more delicious coffee!
The Goat was a destination for good coffee and friendly service. It's fallen far from that. Totally disappointed with the service the drinks we're not quality served by extremely bored young people who have no customer service training. Most likely will just remember the Goat fondly as something else gone by.
A small quiet corner Cafe within walking distance of the campus with a quiet atmosphere and relaxing street view. Lots of different options to eat along with a very large tea menu available. Comes in 16 or 20 oz with the larger option being served in a teapot.
Awesome coffee and service. You know a place is good when you have a line out the door down the sidewalk, but no worries we were still served in a nick of time.
Is The Goat Coffee House the GOAT? Not quite but pretty close. Continuing our exploration of Eau Claire, Tim mentioned how he’s always wanted to try The Goat out so the next thing we knew, we were parking out front and reading the board listing the barista’s favorite drinks. I grabbed a caramel latte with almond milk and Tim grabbed something that I don’t remember. It was fairly busy so we headed to the back room. Well, that ended up being an adventure as the coffeehouse extended on and on and on. We ended up in the far back near the back door. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a coffeehouse that felt like it went on and on and on. Any who, enough about that. It was fairly busy when we arrived so our drinks took a hot second to come out but not too long. We got to sipping and talking and the drink wasn’t too bad. A bit light on caramel flavoring but overall not bad. Once we finished up our drinks, we dipped out to the next destination. Would I say The Goat is GOAT? Not based on one drink alone and seeing as this was the only coffeehouse I stopped at during my stay in Eau Claire… I am curious to try others out to see how they stack up to The Goat.
