Crema's Take

Tucked into the main level of a charming beachside property in Destin, this café strikes a lovely balance between grab-and-go coffee culture and lingering leisure, with a helpful staff that makes visitors feel genuinely welcome. The menu spans from expertly crafted cubano sandwiches and buttery cinnamon rolls to smoothies and traditional espresso drinks, drawing both quick caffeine seekers and families settling in for a longer sit on the outdoor patio. It's the kind of unpretentious spot where the vibe shifts depending on your mood—busy enough to feel lively, but never so rushed that you can't savor your meal.

Guy cleaning the patio was helpful and kind! Cinnamon roll and coffee was delicious. The area is one of our favorites in Destin!

Good experience. Despite some negative reviews, we went and I'm glad. We were there on a not busy day so all went smoothly. We had sushi, and it was good.

I thoroughly enjoyed my cubano sandwich at the cafe. Yum!! Cute little cafe on the main level, and restaurant upstairs opens later in the day. Cafe offers coffee drinks, smoothies, a few baked goods, small breakfast menu, great grilled sandwich options and a small bar area with beer and beach cocktail options. Indoor/outdoor seating. Small retail shop on the side.

Overall was a lovely experience. The restaurant is upstairs connected to a motel, which feels interesting. There’s some kind of shop at the bottom. I was with a party of 7 people, we were seated at a booth/chair area, which was comfortable. The low lighting could give romantic date vibes (pricey) or a little relaxed (which is what you want to feel on vacation). Had the cucumber salad, edamame and the Philly roll, which was delicious. I was feeling a little envious of the shrimp dishes. I tried a little and it was mouth watering. Good portion sizes. Service was attentive.

When we waked in, we were told it would be a 15 minute wait so we went to the bar. Maybe 3 minutes later we were told our table was ready so we decided to just get a drink at the table. Our server was swamped, not her fault, but the entire dining experience took a while. Drinks were mediocre, not worth $15, the tuna dip had the consistency of cat food, the gumbo was embarrassingly bad, the hamachi crudo was great and the wedge salad. We also enjoyed the seaweed salad but the sushi was warm and mediocre. Being told that sushi can take an hour because they’re busy and backed up is on the restaurant owners. You know you’re going to be busy and you’re still choosing to not make your kitchen/sushi bar more efficient which leads to long wait times, bad reviews, guest and staff frustration, etc. We ended up asking for dessert to go and they didn’t give us the vanilla ice cream for the bread pudding like it says on the menu. We don’t mind spending money for a great meal, but this was lackluster at best. The table next to us had a different server and we felt bad for them and how long they were there without food. Our server was super sweet and hospitable. I’m surprised she stays with this restaurant. We also didn’t see a manager at any point.
