Kings Kolache
321 Starr St, Brooklyn, NY
Crema's Take
“This tiny Brooklyn gem brings authentic Texas pastries and breakfast culture to Williamsburg with genuinely impressive kolaches that reviewers can't stop raving about—the blueberry sweet cheese variety deserves its own fan club. The space itself is wonderfully unpretentious, with charming lawn chairs outside and an artsy, community-focused vibe inside that feels more like a neighbor's kitchen than a commercial cafe, making it perfect whether you're grabbing a quick bite solo or settling in with friends over their seasonal flavors and breakfast tacos.”

King’s Kolache absolutely scratched a very specific itch for me. As someone who still misses Texas food (but only the food) on a regular basis, I was genuinely impressed. They’ve done a near-perfect recreation of a Central Texas kolache / klobasnek. The bread has that soft, slightly sweet, pillowy texture that’s hard to get right outside Texas, and they nailed it. The breakfast tacos were tasty and satisfying, though they leaned a bit more toward grab-and-go than freshly made. The tortillas, while flavorful, had a softer, gooier texture than I personally prefer, which made them feel a little delicate and less substantial. That said, the fillings themselves were well-seasoned and enjoyable. Overall, King’s Kolache delivers where it counts. If you’re craving a legit taste of Texas in Brooklyn, this place absolutely deserves a visit
Wowww…the food was delicious, so glad I came here for a quick bite. The lady working there was super sweet too. The shop has a nice artsy vibe. Love the community cards section too, little details shows lots. Will definitely come back if I’m in the area again!!!
kings kolache on my last meal platter, please! great for catering. love their seasonal flavors. 10 outta five. no notes. if you’re ordering for a group, i’d recommend getting 2-3 per person! they go quick.
I went this morning with my hubby, nice small humble place, the blueberry sweet cheese kolache is amazingly good!!! and the small rolls with ham & cheese was so yummy we brought all 4 different kind of flavors.. Amazing kind people with warm personality. A must to go especially in the morning when is all freshly made. Will come again ❣️
Incredible kolaches and breakfast tacos! Both were warm, fresh and delicious. Adorable decor inside with lawn chairs outside, but be aware that this is a tiny shop mostly consisting of the serving counter! Exactly 6 seats inside. I’ll be back again for sure!
