Museum Cafe
150 Essex St, Salem, MA
Crema's Take
“This museum cafe trades intensity for serenity, offering straightforward coffee and generous pastries in the stunning atrium of the Peabody Essex Museum—a perfect spot to linger without feeling rushed. The prices are remarkably reasonable for a cultural institution, and the light food menu (solid sandwiches, falafel wraps, croissants) makes it easy to stretch a visit into a long, unhurried morning.”
What to expect
Classic coffee drinks done right. A slow-sit spot, good for meetings. Pastries and light food on the menu. Family friendly.

Very reasonably priced museum cafe! The tables are in the airy, beautiful atrium. The quiche portion was small, but the sandwiches and falafel wrap were tasty and a good value. (Photos include a Turkey BLT with no veggies, falafel wrap, and quiche). They have lots of drink…
I sipped here. When I slurped, I got nasty looks by patrons. I should have known!
Good selection of food. Average prices. Friendly Staff. 15 minute wait and tasted fine.
This is a nice museum cafe. There are several food items, including croissants. And various coffee items. I had a regular coffee and a croissant in the spacious central area of the museum and it felt great in the middle of my visit to the museum. Recommended.
This cafe on the Peabody Essex Museum atrium is sparse but beautiful to relax in.
