Opa! Greek Cafe
2050 S Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX
Crema's Take
“Opa! Greek Cafe is a family-owned gem in Austin where the warm, welcoming atmosphere and live music create the kind of place you'll want to linger over wine and Greek salads with friends. While opinions on the food authenticity vary, what shines consistently is the genuine care the owners bring to their craft—think specialty Greek drinks, thoughtful cold brew, and standout croissant sandwiches that justify a return visit. With dog-friendly outdoor seating and a late-opening schedule, it's the kind of unpretentious neighborhood spot that feels like discovering a secret, even if you're just stopping by for coffee.”

Eater beware: The falafels we ordered were from trader joe’s (same perfect shape and grainy industrial taste) and they didnt even care to microwave them enough. Dolmas are are also from a can (you can tell from the citric acid taste. Freshly made dolmas dont taste like that). It would be understandable if it wasnt “a greek cafe” maybe…very understaffed so we waited ~30 mins to be served ready made microwaved food. Not sure why they kindly force a tip starting from 20% for counter service and all that..
I honestly loved everything about this place. I stopped in and immediately felt how warm and welcoming it was! iI’s family-owned and you can really tell they care. The food was AMAZING. The gyros were so fresh and flavorful, like the kind you keep thinking about after you leave. The guy at the register was genuinely so kind. I asked for feta and he gave me a whole block without hesitation ! You can tell everything is fresh and made with love. The outdoor patio is so cute and cozy, such a nice spot to sit and enjoy your meal. The whole experience just felt happy and comforting. I left in such a good mood and already know I’ll be back because I want to try literally everything on the menu. This place is special and absolutely worth supporting. Highly, highly recommend.
This is the best establishment in all of humanity's history for liquids, nutrients, sound waves, live music, comfortable warmness on the flesh, joy, and attractive souls. The highest of vibes are to be had here. We heard the music and saw the ambience. Then we literally made an illegal u-turn to be here. Excellence on all levels. Minus one thing. Its a little gauche to have a tv and sports playing. No offense and no disrespect. This is a classy place. Please do yourself a favor and spend your money here. The best choice you'll ever make for the betterment of your life. I love you Opa! Thank you.
A must-visit Greek café in Austin — Opa delivers every single time. I stopped in at Opa and ended up having one of the best casual meals I’ve had in Austin. The croissant sandwich is the real standout — buttery, flaky, and packed with prosciutto, arugula, tomato, and a perfectly cooked egg. It’s the kind of dish that looks simple on paper but hits every flavor note when you bite into it. To go with it, I ordered the Evil Eye cocktail, and it was the perfect balance of refreshing and unique. The combination of vodka, elderflower, citrus, and blue curaçao is bright, crisp, and just sweet enough without being overwhelming. If you’re someone who likes a drink that actually tastes crafted, not thrown together, this is it. The vibe at Opa is exactly what you want from a neighborhood Greek café — relaxed, cozy, and genuinely welcoming. Great food, great drinks, and a space you actually want to hang out in. Absolutely a 5-star spot. I’ll be back.
Loved this place. Maybe not the best Greek food… but the atmosphere makes up for it! I’d come back…for wine and Greek salad.
