Another Perfect Cup

This was such a nice little spot. Very cool ambience inside, I got a Machta cruffin (croissant in a muffin shape) and it was really good! Nice and fluffy, with rock sugar on it. The coffee was outstanding as well. It’s a little pricey, but it was a fun spot to sit for the afternoon and recharge.

The matcha latte was smooth, vibrant, and beautifully balanced, topped with delicate latte art that shows the care put into every cup. The coffee was just as impressive — rich, comforting, and expertly brewed. The pastries were on another level. From the golden, almond-topped tart to the stunning layered cake and savory quiche in the display case, everything looked like it belonged in a European café. And the taste absolutely lived up to the presentation — flaky, fresh, and deeply satisfying without being overly sweet. It’s clear that nothing here is rushed. Every drink and every pastry feels thoughtful, intentional, and crafted with pride. If you appreciate quality and attention to detail, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend for anyone who loves beautiful drinks and truly exceptional baked goods.

You knew this place was good when they were open on the big power outage day! I had a Turkish latte which was delightful and different from any coffee drink I’ve ever tasted. Pasties and eats looked unique and homemade. Quirky logos and statues of animal Heads adorn the coffee bags and walls. The shirts for sale have poppies - also known as “papvers.” Highly recommend if you are walking along the boardwalk in downtown Olympia.

I'm a big fan of how Papaver's distinctive lighter roast style presents itself in espresso-forward drinks such as cortado and macchiato. If you've never had sea buckthorn tea, Papaver is the place to give this standout decaf option a try - think warm, aromatic citrus that is also packed with vitamin C. Papaver's space mirrors its coffee: bright, modern and cutting edge. A great place to hang out if productivity is on your mind.

Visiting from out of town, (Louisville, KY) and I’m so happy my wife and I found this cafe. They made the best 8oz mocha I’ve had yet! I’m quite picky when it comes to coffee drinks w/ milk but their movha was the perfect balance of espresso to milk / cocoa flavor. The espresso wasn’t overly bitter or under-extracted. It was a perfectly pulled shot. Highly recommend! 10/10 experience.
