Two Dogs Cafe

I was visiting from out of town, and my host suggested going up to Bishop's Lodge on Tuesday for lunch. SkyFire Cafe is beautiful, and it has a fantastic atmosphere. Everything cost about double what I would expect to pay anywhere else, $115+ tip for two drinks, an app, and two meals, but I figured it would be outstanding. It was not. The margarita was made from a mix. The chicken wings were overcooked and dry, and the garnish vegetables were dried out, like they had been left out for hours. Zoom in on the attached photo. I ordered the burger, and it had an unpleasant sauce that completely overpowered all of the other flavors. The person I went with ordered a club sandwich and it was very dry. Neither of us ate more than half of our food. The high point were the french fries and ranch dressing. I normally do not write bad reviews, but I felt compelled to bring this to the attention of the management of Bishop's Lodge.

Surprisingly a very disappointing brunch. The Bloody Marys description said it came with “all the garnishes” which was literally a frozen celery stick (disgusting) and 1 olive… The worst Bloody Mary I’ve ever had. All of the food was just ok. The atmosphere is gorgeous with lovely architecture and interior design. I would only recommend ordering a glass of wine or a beer to see the environment because everyone’s cocktails and food were subpar and way over priced given the poor quality.

We stayed at Bishops Lodge for three nights and had breakfast daily and two dinners at Skyfire. The food was absolutely outstanding. It very much exceeded my expectations for an upscale lodge. The service was great and the atmosphere was perfect. I have a hard very time finding food out at restaurants that my partner can’t cook better at home and this chef was amazing! Everything was prepared perfectly and the flavors and sauces (the sauces!!) were so good. Everything on the menu was delicious, wish we could have stayed longer!! Thank you to all the staff!

Our server David was so great! Very attentive, friendly, and had great recommendations for the area. Can’t wait for our next trip out here :)

We’ve come to SkyFire and Bishops Lodge every other year for a birthday stay also for drinks on the patio. This year the restaurant menu and staffing is significantly improved. Makes for a great birthday staycation.
