Sips Espresso Cafe
1390 Prince Ave, Watkinsville, GA
Crema's Take
“Tucked near Piedmont Hospital, this espresso-focused cafe has earned genuine affection from regulars who appreciate both the quality of the coffee and the unhurried, respectful service. The outdoor seating area strikes that rare balance between a quick caffeine stop and a lingering destination, with pastries and a cozy reading nook that invite you to settle in for a while. Staff here seem genuinely invested in helping customers find what they're looking for, whether you're a purist who just wants excellent espresso or someone exploring the specialty drink menu.”

I love going to coffee shops and usually keep things simple—if the coffee is good, I’m happy. I don’t expect service, just basic respect. Unfortunately, my last visit here felt uncomfortable. The staff member with short wavy brown hair spoke to me in a very condescending tone and gave me a dismissive stare the entire time. It honestly came across as rude and unwelcoming, and it left me wondering if there was some bias behind the attitude. The coffee was good, but experiences like that make it hard to want to come back. I hope the staff learns to treat customers with more respect
not from the area. i've gone 3 years ago and vaguely remember it being a cute place with a reading area with books. i might be mistakening for somewhere else. i went recently again and it was kind of crowded with people on their laptops and the cold brew and service was very standard and not memorable or super effective. probably won't go back honestly
Nice little place near the hospital. I'm not a coffee drinker but was needing something for my wife. The young lady who helped me was very helpful with a great attitude. Best part, the coffee was great! Definitely check this place out.
My friend and I got coffee here and it was so yummy. We did not have to wait long and the prices were affordable. The seating outside is so cute and clean.
I had an early appointment at Piedmont cardiology this morning. Since I am definitely not a morning person I felt like a cup of good coffee would be a great idea. There’s a little coffee shop right across from the hospital, so I decided to drop in there and give them a try. The young man working the counter was very helpful discussing the menu. I don’t know much about different kinds of coffees so I always have to ask about them before I order. I opted for a medium latte with sugar-free vanilla syrup. I was glad they had the sugar-free vanilla as many coffee shops that I’ve gone to were always out of it. I guess it’s a popular flavor. Sips had quite a few in-house baked sweets. There were so many yummy looking options; it was hard to choose. The young man recommended the zucchini bread; said it was probably the most popular thing they offered. I ended up buying myself a lemon blackberry scone to have with my coffee plus a fat slice of zucchini bread and an apple scone to take home. Sips has a covered patio out front and another patio on the side. They don’t really have indoor seating although the covered patio out front could be enclosed in the winter for a seating area. I sat outside and enjoyed the morning sun with my scone and my coffee. The coffee was delicious and the scone was wonderful. I don’t get out this way all that often, but when I do, I’m going to stop at Sips again. They have good stuff.
