Crema's Take

Carmela Coffee is a warm, dog-friendly neighborhood gem where owner Miguel and his attentive staff create a genuinely welcoming atmosphere that keeps people coming back—whether for carefully crafted espresso drinks, creative pour-overs, or leisurely work sessions. Beyond the excellent coffee, they've built something special with thoughtfully curated aesthetics, an on-point music selection, and a kitchen that surprises with inventive dishes like chorizo mushroom shakshuka alongside solid breakfast and pastry offerings. It's the kind of place where you feel noticed and cared for, with plenty of free parking and cozy nooks that naturally invite you to linger.

Miguel the owner and staff are absolutely wonderful. They’re all so attentive, polite, and kind. The cafe always has such a wonderful atmosphere, the music is perfect every-time I go. And the food is absolutely delicious. My go-to is either the traditional shashuka, or the california flatbread. If i could i would give the staff & cafe 1000 stars. Please if you’re intrigued check Carmelas out, I promise you won’t regret it!!!!

I had a great experience at Miguel’s Carmela Coffee location. The service was welcoming, the coffee was fresh and well made, and the atmosphere was clean and comfortable. Miguel clearly takes pride in running his business and making sure customers have a great experience. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re looking for quality coffee and friendly service.

Super cute, dog friendly coffee shop with an amazing aesthetic! I tried their chorizo mushroom shashuka (so good!) and the coffee was excellent. I love how they’ve creatively made different cozy spaces without needing much room, it feels like there’s a little nook for everyone. I also really appreciate the thoughtful touches, like their charity focused table signage and the fun positive “table numbers” featuring inspiring quotes and famous people. It makes ordering feel special! The only tiny downside is that the bathroom doesn’t have a hook, but honestly, it’s such a small thing in an otherwise fantastic spot. I could easily spend the whole day here, amazing vibes, delicious food, and coffee that hits just right. Highly recommend!

Nice place to work on a laptop many people come here like to a coworking space. Free street parking with plenty of spots nearby. I had a sandwich and it was good. My boyfriend had a salad, though the greens seemed not very well washed hopefully just a one time thing. Comfortable outdoor couches and a cozy, modern interior. Overall, a good spot to work and relax.

The croissant was kind of disappointing. Tasted perfectly fine, but kind of a heavy kind of croissant. I could definitely do without all that green dye, and I don't know what all that green stuff is. The pistachio cream only tasted like sugar.😔 very nice people though. In a kind of a big Village shopping kind of area which was nice with lots of other places.. And it was a cute coffee bar with all kinds of choices and seating and such.
