Crema's Take

This West Orange gem is a free-to-play board game cafe tucked inside a community center, where you can linger for hours over excellent fries and coffee without paying a cover charge—just grab what you want to eat or drink. The spacious, welcoming atmosphere has earned raves for being genuinely family-friendly and inclusive, with staff who go the extra mile to make everyone comfortable, whether you're planning a neighborhood game night or bringing a group with special needs. It's less "board game store" and more "organized community gathering spot," the kind of place where locals actually want to spend time together.

Excellent board game cafe! Unlike others I've been to, this one is completely free to play -- no cover charge. The only cost is any food you choose to buy (the fries were great). The community was very friendly too, with many families present. The grounds of the rec center are also fitting for any outdoor play too. We had a blast trying out some new games and will certainly be back again. The selection of games is a little slim, but it looks like you can always bring your own and play here too.

We love the team at the Player Agency! They helped us plan and cater three events in the last year - a baptism reception, to-go catering trays for at at-home birthday party, and an epic neighborhood Super Bowl party. The events ranged from 35 to 100+ adults and children. We were able to find delicious meal options that satisfied every craving and dietary preference at a budget we could manage. The team was flexible with adjustments to the menu and ensured that we were well prepared with food, drink and proper staffing to thoroughly enjoy our events. I am so grateful to have this gem of a small business in our community and even more grateful to call the team at the Player Agency our friends. Don’t hesitate in booking your next family or neighborhood celebration at the Baird with the Player Agency!

This location is in a community center, this is NOT a board game store. They have a decent selection to play and a good amount of room but definitely more of an organized experience space than somewhere to go hangout with a friend, unless you’re under 18. We had fun but it was disappointing that the advertising around this location isn’t clearer.

Cool building! Great community place, feels too clean for my taste, bright and headache inducing, but great nonetheless! Cafe has beer license now and I was served a non alcoholic beer without being informed it was a non alcoholic beer first. This is a common etiquette in serving to avoid mistake and customer backlash. Instead of correcting the situation, homeboy blamed the customer and said "too bad it's already opened." Pal, YOU opened it. Sometimes the print is not visible, who knows, next time be a good representative. Food is based junk food but perfect for the board gaming and trivia nights. I personally won't partake, but lucky that they even serve food and drinks so that's really awesome! But before anyone says "they have loads of options!" I'm sorry but the portion to price ratio for most of that was ludicrous. That kale salad looked really sad. Board game selection is a bit mediocre, but considering it's a free place to hang, I think it's a wonderful community overall.

I took my post 21 special needs group here for a trip and it was a huge hit. The space is large, clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The staff were incredibly kind and patient with our big crew. The lovely staff behind the counter was encouraging and patient with our aim to have our members be independent when ordering. One of the owners welcomed us and gave game recommendations based on our size and needs of the group. Oh and the food was fantastic! I highly recommend this location for groups who want to be a part of the community. On a more personal note, as an individual who loves board gaming, i really appreciated the selection of quality games with many being recent releases. I can't wait to go back with friends and with our special needs crew at Limitless.
