Crema's Take

Zabar's is a New York institution that deserves way more love than it gets—their hand-sliced nova, fresh salads, and chocolate babka are legitimately excellent, and the cinnamon babka bread pudding alone is worth the trip. This is a genuine neighborhood staple with fair prices and an overwhelming selection of Jewish breakfast classics and prepared foods that beat any chain alternative. It's perpetually busy for good reason, and whether you're grabbing coffee and a pastry or loading up on smoked fish, you're getting the real deal.

This is a great neighborhood store. Usually very busy in the morning. They have all the Jewish food and breakfast options that you can think of and the service is usually good. This is a staple on the upper west side and has been around for years.
