Crema's Take
“This cozy Chicago spot excels at both bold espresso drinks (the shaken espresso gets consistent raves) and hearty brunch fare, with Baba's Eggs emerging as a standout order that justifies the $15 price point. The real draw is the thoughtfully designed space—a beautiful little deck with greenery and pops of color that makes it equally perfect for lingering over coffee solo or gathering with friends and family. Just note that service can be inconsistent, but when it's on, the whole experience feels like discovering a well-kept neighborhood secret.”

We visited Cafe Libra for a couple coffees (affogato and shaken baby espresso). Highly recommend the shaken espresso! The affogato was a little odd, but the service and decor were very nice.
The food was good, but the service left a lot to be desired. I waited over 30 minutes for this sandwich, despite there being only one other table occupied who came in after and got their pizza for a larger party (before me), it does not seem reasonable for such a slow night. Service was inattentive. I had to get up and ask for more water, and again later for napkins when the food finally arrived. The staff seemed more interested in being on their phone at the counter than taking care of the few customers they had. The atmosphere was what initially drew me in, and while it looked promising, it didn’t make up for the poor experience. I came, I saw… but I won’t be coming back.
Great atmosphere with a mix of greenery and color. Baba’s Eggs (+ Cevapi on the side) are a solid choice if you are looking for a breakfast/brunch option. Most orders are around $15 per person. We enjoyed some Turkish coffee on the house! ☕️ Thank you Cafe Libra!
Found this gem of a place while waiting for my car to be finished and glad they told me about this place! Food drink was incredible as well as the service! The beautiful little deck is so nice on a gorgeous 72 day like today with nice music at perfect volume. 100% will come back here! 😍
Great brunch spot. We got the tuna salad sandwich (I think? Went a few wks ago, don’t see it on menu anymore) and the bomblette (vegetarian) with a side of bread. Both were outstanding and the bread was absolutely delish. Good amount of vegetarian options, though most (if not all) are egg-based so not good for vegans. Got a coconut cream matcha and a special latte that I don’t remember what was in it, both were yummy but overly sweetened for our liking. A bit on the pricey side but portion sizes were good and we went home with leftovers. Overall a great experience and we will return in the future for brunch.
