Merriweather Coffee + Kitchen
428 Hudson St, New York, NY
Crema's Take
“Merriweather Coffee + Kitchen is a tight-knit NYC breakfast haven where the espresso work shines as brightly as the house-made pastries and creative morning sandwiches—regulars rave about the Merriweather Morning with harissa and over-easy eggs, and the cortado that's become something of a cult favorite for how the ice melts into the shot. The small space fills up fast despite its modest footprint, but the genuinely kind staff and thoughtful touches (like charming espresso cups and the willingness to accommodate) make it feel less crowded than it is, perfect for both lingering laptop work and quick, memorable breakfasts.”

The server was kind enough to get me a soda water when they didn't have any coke. Cute little espresso cups. Ham and cheese croissant is mostly bread. Seats were almost packed on a slow day, according to google.
Amazing bread! And coffee And food Perfect NYC breakfast spot Had the Meriweather Morning Sandwich, and it exceeded my high expectations. Seating was plentiful considering the small footprint. I wanted to stay longer than I knew I should
my beli review is from the winter but still holds true aussie aussie … breakfast sandwich: absolutely amazing with avocado, over easy egg, and housemade harissa** on a brioche absolutely yum 🤤 iced salted maple cardamom latte with oat milk: i cannot describe how flavorful this was. the cardamom is super strong with a hint of salted maple. supposedly a fall drink but still fits this v cold, wintery day in nyc 🥶 also the ice cubes with smoke?! say less also baristas were offering delivery drivers coffee which i thought was so so sweet 🥹 vibes are excellent … is worth coming back for a yapping session
tldr: try an iced cortado, no lid, no straw, and you’ll see steam rise off the cubes’ edges *chef’s kiss* i love how the ice melts here. one of my friends is also in this love affair. if you like a doughy scone, these may suit you more than me. i like the breakfast sandwich! they also have vegan cookies! they make chocolate chip with canola oil - no butter, no eggs!¡ i’m still learning vegan versions of things so feeling green to review such matters. tmi, for those going out of their way: i’m lactose and espresso-sensitive, but it’s still worth it to me to get cow’s milk in the espresso drinks. i really enjoy the iced lavender matcha too! but note the syrup can change from time to time!
Great coffee and breakfast options. Tried the Cortado, Cappuccino and a pesto mozzarella sandwich! Staff is friendly and seating options are limited!
