I discovered this awesome bakery through Too Good To Go! It had such an inviting atmosphere with fun music and Valentine’s Day decorations. The owner of this bakery is also so kind and friendly. I got two brownies, a huge cake pop, and a cheese croissant sandwich all for only $6.60! Everything still tasted perfectly fresh. The brownies were decadent, the cake pop was one of the best I’ve ever had with its chocolate coating and moist interior, and the croissant was light and flaky. I wasn’t lucky enough to score their namesake, the cachito, so I’ll definitely have to return to try their signature Venezuelan pastry. This is a wonderful addition to Evanston’s cafe scene!
Fantastic friendly owner operators and place for coffee and food with sunshine! I really wanted a south facing window on this late December morning, it’s sunny out and I found perfect spot. The breakfast sandwich was amazing and nice latte, I usually only get coffee so this was a treat. I will be back to try more! We need to support our local small restaurants! Note: the sandwich took a few minutes because they didn’t throw into a microwave, a nice warm and flaky croissant.
I tried the ham and cream cheese cachito and lemon meringue tart, both of which were delicious! They make everything, very impressive, wide selection of pastries with lots of flavors. Very clean inside, perfect for studying. Owner is very kind. A must try in Evanston!!
This morning we visited Mr Cachito, recommended by friends. I had the ham and bacon cachito, it was DELICIOUS!! cachito is a Venezuelan dish, it’s a thin bread stuff usually with Ham, but here they have different varieties. Also had the cream cheese and mushroom pastelito, it was amazing! Very fresh and tasty, they have different drinks and they offer Malta which is a popular drink in Venezuela. The coffee was incredible good, I was talking to the owner and told him not to never change the espresso machine, because the taste of that coffee is everything! I had to go tres leches and quesillo, both made with the Venezuelan recipes. The owners came and had a very pleasant conversation with me, thanks Rolando and Daniela! And one of the girls gave me a alfajor filled with dulce de leche for free! The whole staff is very friendly and very polite. 110% recommend this place, if you are around Evanston go visit them!!
Soooooooo delicious! Lots of traditional Venezuelan meat and cheese rolls, and a fantastic selection of desserts. We had the turkey and spinach with feta. There are also ham and bacon, croissants, mushroom and cream cheese, and many others. Parties include press, cakes, tiramisu, and tarts. I'll upload some photos. There are 6 tables and seating along the windows. Sit down has always been available though many come for takeout. Located in downtown Evanston with plenty of street parking. This place HIGHLY recommended. Unique same great flavors.
