Crema's Take

This intimate Thai spot in Iowa City wins people over with generous portions and a cozy, small-scale atmosphere that somehow accommodates groups beautifully—perfect for lingering conversations before heading out on the town. While opinions vary on execution (the curries seem hit-or-miss with spice levels), diners consistently praise the drunken noodles, crab rangoon, and their willingness to customize heat levels, making it a reliable neighborhood favorite for casual meals with friends and family.

10 a lovely meal there with friends and family before a show. I got the green curry with pork and two other people got the pad thai everybody loved it the green curry because I wanted some spice there was a little heat but next time I'm going to ask for more heat. That's very good I loved it it's a cozy atmosphere. Low volume Asian style music playing in the background easy to talk. The tea was very good too

Good portions, okay prices. Pad Thai was decent. Crab Rangoon had a drier yellow filling that didn't seem like the usual crab rangoon. See photos for example and current menu pricing. All other websites and menu links online have incorrect prices. Likely the best Thai food in Iowa City.

Yellow curry too creamy, does not Taste like the spices cooked in long enough. tast like warm coconut milk and heavy cream with a hint of curry powder. I tried the drunken noodles weeks ago, they were tasty but too dry. So, got them this trip, asked for extra sauce and the noodles were still super dry. This was a failed to go order.

The crab rangoon was delicious! Also had vegetable soup as well which was great. Super small yet intimate and had plenty of room for a group of 10 people. Fast service too!

Went to Thai Flavors during the block party last weekend. They were busy and the service was good. The food was delicious as well. The spice level was perfect! I had two and my husband had 3. We were worried it wouldn't be spicy due to NaRa in CR spice levels didn't seem that strong but we are probably more on the high spicy tolerance level side. I had the drunken noodles, husband had chicken fried rice and we shared the Hawkeye roll. The Hawkeye is something I highly recommend as a fresh veggie side to go with the carbs. The roll has a peanut sauce that pairs perfectly and isn't too sweet like other appetizer sauces. 1/25/25- Another visit here and the food was good. Spicy noodles and mango sticky rice for dessert this time. I told them to add some more spice and it was spicy in a good way - just enough for me.
