Frothy Monkey
1400 51st Ave N, Nashville, TN
Crema's Take
“This Nashville warehouse spot nails the balance between serious coffee craft and laid-back gathering space, with an exposed brick aesthetic and rare street parking that feels like a win in the city. Regulars rave about their thoughtful specialty drinks (the coconut oat milk options get particular love) and elevated brunch menu that's earned it a reputation as much for food as for coffee, all delivered by a team that keeps their cool even when the place is packed. Whether you're camping out with your laptop for hours or meeting friends over shrimp and grits, the generous natural light and counter seating make it feel more like a destination than a quick caffeine pit stop.”

We have been going to this Frothy Monkey for years. It's always been quite busy but never too loud for me. They have made a few changes the last year or so that elevate it from a more casual and simple cafe. It feels much more like a Parisian Restaurant experience in that they have silverware ready and a full menu awaiting you, with a waitress, so you no longer simply order a coffee a beer or sandwich. I met with a colleague and worked on editing some documents Huawei begin with espresso and finished with a beer. Overall it was a positive experience with a great atmosphere and it seems like a professional setting. They had wonderful coffee and some great local beers on draft.
Checked out this location for Forthy which is a exposed brick warehouse vibe with street parking available (which is a rare find in Nashville). It's a large nicely lit dinning area with counter seating, dinning area and high tops. There are a wide variety of coffees and teas, vegan options on the menu, along with lunch amd breakfast options. I had the chicken salad sandwich served with a side of tortilla chips/salsa. I has the bloody mary as a drink which was fine, nothing our of ordinary. All staff were attentive and friendly.
Great food, chill place to be work with laptop, would go back again for sure. Coconut oat milk drink was delicious, the meal we order was super tasty! Came back second time, shrimp and grits, firepot amai matcha latte And coconut drink with oat milk was so good. Came back a few more times and food and drinks still very good, tried the cookies too and love them!
I've loved Frothy Monkey for years, and in the last 10 months have had to eliminate dairy from my diet for health reasons. I asked for no cheese on my burger and when it was brought to the table with cheese, I pointed it out. The waitress picked up my plate and went about 2 or 3 ft from the table where a waiter stopped her to see what was wrong. She immediately came back to the table to tell me multiple times there was no cheese anywhere on the burger. I was never given the option to order something else, or acknowledged at all while my mom ate her burger (that was also supposed to be no cheese, but hers is preference, not health related). They just avoided our table until we asked for our check, and had to make sure we weren't charged since I couldn't eat it. The side salad was bland and only arugula. Keep in mind the photo is the second layer of burger, but the cheese is on the top layer with the bacon jam.
Great brunch spot, we keep coming back! Food is tasty and service is always good, even when it’s busy. Also a nice place to study or work for a bit.
