The barista very enthusiastically recommended the volcano latte to me and it did not disappoint! I love a salty latte so this hit the spot and wasn’t too sweet at half sweetness. I love the indoor-outdoor feeling and the colorful decorations throughout that really exude playful (lol) and childlike. The shipping container is a really cute aesthetic and I appreciate how there was still an outlet inside.

Stopped by PlayCoffee and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the Sudachi Matcha Tonic and a cold brew, and both drinks came out quickly. The Sudachi Matcha Tonic was excellent. It was very matcha forward with a subtle citrus note. Not overly bright like a yuzu tonic, but just enough citrus to notice as you sip, allowing the matcha to remain the focus. The cold brew was also well done. Smooth, not bitter, and with plenty of body. Very easy to drink. I also really liked how the space is laid out. They repurposed shipping containers in a thoughtful way, creating clearly separated seating areas. There is an outdoor section, an indoor section with bathrooms, and a main kitchen area where you order drinks and browse merchandise. The layout feels intentional and works well even when the shop is busy. Looking back, we probably should have asked about the beans because the coffee was good enough that we would have happily picked up a bag or two to take home. Quick service, well executed drinks, and a unique space make PlayCoffee a spot worth revisiting. I will definitely be back to try more from their menu.

Play has been a staple in the Fullerton Coffee scene. Since they opened they have been offering the highest quality coffee in the area by far. The location itself is a piece of art. Custom built shipping containers that have been arranged and designed beautifully. They always offer the highest quality coffee beans from around the world and even offer some roasts that are Play exclusive. Their second location in the Orange Circle is an experience all in itself located in a historic bank building. Overall going to Play is an experience. You don’t just get a quality drink but a wonderful adventure. Cannot wait to see what they dream up next!

The only issue I had was making a decision on coffee beans to purchase. It was an excellent experience. There is a ridiculous selection of coffee from around the world and an excellent menu for beverages. I had a fantastic shot of espresso and an excellent pour over. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and super friendly. It is worth going out of your way to make a visit

excellent coffee. Got the Volcano Latte with Oatmilk (highly recommend) Weird atmosphere, no music playing, and the building set up is a bit hard to spot. But if you’re down for a little adventure with coffee as the reward, it’s worth a try.
