Crema's Take

This intimate East Village gem champions precision coffee with a refreshing no-laptop policy that encourages genuine conversation over contemplation. Their rotating selection of single-origins—like that standout anaerobic Colombian with its jammy, funky character—pairs with consistently excellent pour-overs and espresso drinks executed by baristas who clearly know their craft. It's the kind of Euro-café atmosphere where you can linger without pretension and taste coffee that rewards your attention.

Phenominal coffee selection here. A decent breadth of flavors. I had an anaerobic Columbian coffee that was the perfect balance of jammy, funky ferment while being light bodied and quite sweet. The barista was nice and helped me pick a coffee. I was inclined towards a Myanmar coffee simply because I've never tried one before, but she steered me to the Columbian one and that was a great choice.

One of the best pourovers I've had in a cafe in a long time! Loved this cafe. The baristas are super nice and very skilled, which is hard to find in a lot of the country. I ordered a washed anaerobic Colombian from their Competition series. Sometimes these coffees can be a bit over fermented for my taste, but this was probably the best anaerobic I've ever tried. The barista brewed in an origami dripper. Such a nice acidity and balanced flavor that was sweet and fruity tasting. My wife got a hot chocolate that she very much enjoyed as well.

Second time here. Last time was 5 months ago. Great latte with beautiful latte art. Nice people. Right around the corner from Standard East Village and Bowery hotels.

Coffee Project New York is hands down one of the best coffee spots I’ve ever visited in the city! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air. Their baristas are incredibly skilled and friendly — they truly care about every cup they serve. I tried their signature deconstructed latte, and it was an experience in itself — rich, smooth, and beautifully balanced. The minimalist decor and chill vibe make it perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. Definitely a must-visit for true coffee lovers in NYC!

Coffee Project in the East Village is a small, modern spot with a Euro-café vibe (bonus points for the no-laptop policy). Their medium-roast blend—Colombia meets Guatemala—hits a sweet spot: smooth milk-chocolate body with a caramel finish, zero bitterness, and plenty of flavor. I ordered an almond croissant, and the staff offered to pop it in the oven. It came out crisp outside, soft and fragrant inside—no sogginess. They even let us enjoy a couple of pastries we’d picked up elsewhere at their outdoor table, all with genuine warmth. Friendly people, thoughtful touches, and a medium roast I’d gladly order again. Perfect coffee-and-pastry stop in the neighborhood.
