Crema's Take

Antigua Bread captures the warmth of a neighborhood gathering spot where Guatemalan and Mexican breakfast traditions meet all day long, complete with genuinely hospitable service that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Their coffee holds its own alongside standout dishes like spicy chilaquiles and traditional morning fare, creating the kind of unhurried, comfortable space where lingering over a meal and conversation feels like the whole point.

L picked us up at the metro station and we had lunch with L at Antigua Bread – a Mexican restaurant. This time we had the highly recommended Chilaquiles con carne ($18.95) with chicken and over medium eggs as well as the Ultimate Antigua Breakfast ($18.95) with steak and sunny side up eggs. Ice Horchata latte ($6) accompanied our meal. All of the food were excellent. Portion was huge as well. Love it that the chilaquiles had some heat to it with all the aromas from the fresh ingredients while the steak was beefy and delicious. Enjoyed the well-cooked black beans too. Definitely an authentic Mexican meal as recommended. Yum! For the full review and details of our 5 months Round The World (RTW) travels, visit 2bearbear today!

Came in for the advertised AUTHENTIC GUATEMALAN food. Was definitely more of a Mexican menu, low selection of breads, and drinks were not it, (steeped flavoured teas with syrup).Disappointed 😔 was looking forward to it. Service was decent, prices fair but 100%NOT AUTHENTIC. Catered for a different crowd

I’m all about supporting the small business and their food is good, but the resturant needs cleaning dude!! May be wipe your tables more often so they won’t feel dirty and sticky when you eat your food there?

The hostess was so nice and helpful. The restaurant was clean and the workers were all very nice. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was hot, fresh and delicious.

They have delicious typical Guatemalan breakfast which is served all day! I have also tried their chilaquiles and they were good and surprisingly a little spicy. Their coffee is also pretty good. I love that they offer wifi and have available plus in the booth seats which makes it a great place to get some work done while also having a meal and coffee. The service has been great every time I’ve visited. The outdoor patio in the front and back offers a pet friendly space.
