The Coffee Grounds
4212 Southtowne Dr, Eau Claire, WI
Crema's Take
“This Eau Claire spot blends coffee craft with a curated lifestyle experience, offering fresh-roasted beans you can grind on-site alongside an eclectic selection of wines, cheeses, and spirits that makes it feel more like a discovery destination than a traditional café. The industrial-warehouse aesthetic and knowledgeable crew create a laid-back gathering space where you might linger over a pour-over or creative specialty drink, though fair warning—the vibe skews more hangout-friendly than cozy, and they're particular about their outside food policy. It's worth visiting for the serious coffee selection and the unexpected community feel, especially if you're into exploring beyond just your morning cup.”

Wow came in for a coffee after being at brewery attached. Came up to counter with son who had to go food from Raising Canes, IMMEDIATELY girl says no outside food....I said, ok were not staying we just wanted a coffee but NOPE. Lost my business. If it wasnt done so bitchy maybe but damn just visiting but never again. Do better.
Food was good but nothing special. The amount you get doesn’t match the price. The vibes of the place are for sure not coffee shop. The atmosphere is kinda dank . It gave off factory vibes . I was upset because I got a pumpkin latte and told them I am allergic to dairy. They made it with oat milk. I took two sips of it and set it down because it was too hot. When the lady came with our food she informed me it still had dairy in it . If I drank anymore I could have gotten extremely sick . After telling her I couldn’t have it she walked away. Never reimbursed for the price or offered to make me something else. They gave me an allergen after I told them the allergy and had no hospitality to fix their mistake.
Great coffee shop, a huge variety of fresh roasted coffee. Beautiful coffee machine. You can grind your coffee here. They also have a lot of delicious cheeses, wines and other good stuff. Thanks to Ryan! ☕️
Very nice coffee shop that’s part of a little store. They make delicious smoothies. I highly recommend the house-made wild rice burger. 😋 Fries were really good, too. We also snagged some THC seltzers and a delicious looking loaf of sourdough break with garlic and olives. And it’s not far off the highway on our way to Chicago. Plenty of space to sit indoor and a little patio out back.
This store is a real treat when I get to town! They had their annual Wicked Wine event and we had a blast! Fun folks hanging out tasting wine, bourbons, and other delicious spirits. They offered so many options, it rivals some big beverage stores! Also, the kitchen gadget section, snacks and cheeses sections were impressive. This is a must stop at when we return to Eau Claire! Thank you for a great time! PS: The attached brewery pub (Modicum Brewery) in the back is an awesome place to stop, if some of your group is still shopping, and you want to grab a pint and chill.
