I'm always excited when I get to try a new place for breakfast, especially one that has just opened. While Why Coffee? is finding it's footing, I have a feeling when the propritora get everything worked out and winter turns into summer it will be a welcome addition to the culinary scene in Wilmington. I had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict: toasted muffins with a generous portion of smoked salmon and just-set, runny yolked poached eggs was a fine meal. I think chef may want to rethink piping the hollandaise in fine squiggles, it's unnecessarily fussy and causes the sauce to congeal and cool too quickly. My SO had the breakfast wrap with eggs and sausage, which she warned me may become her new fixation. Coffee was hot and tasty, hot and flaky biscuits with whipped butter were complimentary, and our banquette seating was comfortable. Music was a little loud, decor a little jarring, and service a tad amateurish yet endearing. Folks traveling to or from the beach, singles looking for a spot to enjoy a meal while scrolling their socials, and large parties of students will love this place. We enjoyed our meals and will come back to try other items on the menu.

I had a beautiful and delicious caramel latte. The atmosphere is bright, cherry and inviting. Staff is welcoming and warm. I will return to try more items. 01/19/26 Update: I’ve visited two more times. Once for lunch and had the burger with bacon. It was fabulous. Fantastic quality and grilled flavor. Yum! Yesterday had brunch with a friend. The blueberry lemon pancake and Nutella latte were perfect. Love this place. The bright and cherry atmosphere and service are terrific!

Couldn’t wait to try this place and it was fabulous! First the staff is lovely! Friendly and helpful. The coffee options are diverse. The food is excellent!! I had the avocado toast on sourdough with salmon, it was enough for two people and delicious. My husband had the breakfast sandwich with eggs and real ham (thick slice) and Gruyère and a side of fruit. Excellent! The complimentary biscuits were also awesome! We can’t wait to go back for lunch and dinner. (The only thing I would suggest is that they lower the music during breakfast.) Definitely check it out!
