Crema's Take
“Move Along Coffee is a beloved neighborhood gem where the owner genuinely connects with every visitor, turning a quick coffee run into a warm conversation about your day. Their espresso-focused drinks pair beautifully with an impressive lineup of creative pastries—think ube salted coconut crispy and Korean BBQ Danish—that keep people driving 20 minutes out of their way just for another visit. Whether you're grabbing a quick cup at the walk-up window or settling in for a slow sit, the consistently excellent coffee from Gaslight roasters and the cozy, mindful atmosphere make this place feel like it gets better with every trip.”

Omg, I love this place- we drive 20mins from the north side, just to come here! The coffee and pastries are always AMAZING, every visit it feels like it gets better and better! Most of the pastries are vegan which I love, I don’t strictly eat vegan and I can easily say they have some of the best donuts/pastries ’ve had in Chicago!
Amazing coffee, delicious pastries, and truly the nicest staff. The owner always takes the time to chat with everyone who stops by, asking about your day or plans and offering great recommendations on what’s happening around the neighborhood. It makes every visit feel genuinely welcoming and personal. A particularly thoughtful touch: they have biscuits for dogs who wait in line with you, which is such a sweet detail and very much appreciated. The tea selection also looks excellent, and they carry a few different dairy-free milk alternatives. A wonderful neighborhood coffee shop that absolutely deserves a 5⭐️ review - highly recommend!
The staff was very friendly and conversational on the crispy + how the day has been going in general. Very mindful, very cozy. The ube salted coconut crispy is delicious! Will definitely have to linger around more next time.
This place is everything people say it is. The guy who works there is super friendly and fun to talk with, the coffee is special, and the pastries are great. I haven't eaten my Korean BBQ Danish yet, but the donuts I got have me believing this is now the best donut in Chicago. Not since the original Do-Rite on Randolph & Dearborn closed and they became a chain has anyone been the best. Donut Vault was close, as were others, but Move Along is special. Sadly, I ate two donuts, but they're so rich, I should've eaten one. Take a bite, have a sip of coffee, repeat. The Korean BBQ Danish will be my lunch, but I'm going to need to put it in an air-tight container, because the smell is driving me nuts and I'm already full. I go by this place regularly, and there is always a line, so expect to wait to get served through the window.
Cute walk up window with solid coffee from gaslight and unique pastries on offer. Variety for drinks is fairly standard with some unique seasonal offerings. The quality was top notch in what we got. Staff were very friendly, especially for it being a slow and cold day. Definitely worth stopping in if you're nearby.
