Crema's Take

Roji Bakery is a beloved La Brea institution that seamlessly blends Japanese-inspired baking with approachable cafe culture, earning loyal fans for its housemade pastries like the addictive Salt Bread and Curry Pan alongside well-executed specialty drinks like yuzu Americanos and Earl Grey scones. The space itself radiates the comfortable, worn-in charm of a neighborhood fixture that's been perfecting its craft for years, with a warm staff that makes families and coffee enthusiasts alike feel genuinely welcome. It's the kind of place where you pop in for a quick pastry and coffee, but leave feeling like you've discovered something special that locals have already been keeping to themselves.

ordered Yuzu Americano and coffee frappe - yuzu americao was not that bad bit coffee frappe tasted very bland as if you drink leftover frappe next day after ice all melted, no flavour at all.. not even sweet as explained. But the scones looked tasty. I bought some bread but didnt try myself

Little gem of a bakery on La Brea Ave next to super popular Met Her. This “Japanese” inspired bakery stands on its own with its delicious offerings of baked pastries, pizzas and even seaweed wrapped onigiris. Only thing it’s only street parking.

Homemade Japanese bakery goods located in the heart of La Brea neighborhood. I highly recommend the Salt Bread ($3.50), Curry Pan ($5.00) and Apricot Cream Cheese Danish ($5.00). Friendly staff. Plenty of seating inside. No dedicated parking lot, street parking only.

Not doing any research, but the look and feel entering the bakery could already tell me it's been there for awhile. Yeah, that kind of local long-standing bakery which I bet are lots of people favorite to-go based on how long its existence has been. The interior was simple, classic, and could tell not much changes have been made. Coming on Sunday afternoon, you might have guessed it right that the showcase was near being empty. Many have been sold out, but I was lucky they still had the chocolate almond croissant I wanna try. The size was quite petite compared to common ones, but the generous chocolate filling and the deliciously crunchy almond layer on top would be called the winners! I also loved how it looked simple but the taste was simply comforting. I would surely go back to try more and next time would make it earlier in the day to get the complete selection!

Amazing Earl Grey scones and friendly service. After discovering that Roji Bakery offered Earl Grey pastries, we had to give it a try. We were hoping to get the Earl Grey rolls, but they were sold out, so we opted for the scone instead—and it was phenomenal. We also tried the matcha croissant and raspberry almond croissant, both tasty, but the Earl Grey scone easily outshined them. The service was nice, and while the prices were a bit on the high side, the scone was absolutely worth it.
