Casa Cafetzin Coffee Roasters
4111 N Mesa St APT 1, El Paso, TX
Crema's Take
“This El Paso roastery is serious about coffee craft, roasting their beans in-house and executing advanced techniques like double anaerobic fermentation that set them apart in the local scene. The space feels like a genuine third place where regulars return again and again, whether for meticulous pour overs and espresso drinks or to grab whole beans, and the owners' obvious passion for their work translates into both the cup and the welcoming vibe.”

The best coffee place in town. Also if you are looking for good coffee beans, this really is the place to go around here. They know what they do, they roast their beans in house, every single interaction with the staffs has been absolutely delightful. Love love love this place!
Casa Cafetzin is my happy place. I’ve lost count of the many times I’ve been there, from solo coffee time to friends’ catch-ups. So yes, I love Casa Cafetzin and their people—therefore, there’s some bias here. The coffee is absolutely amazing. High-quality beans that come from small farms across Mexico and other great places (they've surprised me with beans from China and Guatemala). They offer beans from washed to honey—name your favorite process, they’ve got you covered. I brew my coffee at home using their beans; it makes every day better to start with a cup of delicious specialty coffee. I stop by when I need extra love (a cap). I adore their avocado toast (make sure to add an egg and prosciutto) and the molletes (uff!). Did you know their sourdough is prepped in-house? YES! Their morita salsa macha is an absolute delicacy. They offer chilaquiles somedays—I love chilaquiles. Last but not least, these people bake their pastries in-house—there’s always a good selection to choose from. They are a small local business; they are not fast food, so understand that they run out of food at times. They cook everything to order. They offer good-quality food prepared by humans.
Absolutely the best roaster and pourover coffee in El Paso. I’ve never seen any other roaster do double anerobic fermentation in the city. Although the Chinese Meng-LianLahu-Va (black sheep) beans were in the medium roast spectrum, the amount of fruit forward fermented aroma, wine-like, full-bodied, sweet, and cherry flavor notes, sets it apart from any other other beans in the city. Please do more of these anaerobic fermentations. El Paso deserves to taste more of your creations. I bought beans and they are bursting with fermented aroma goodness.
Best coffee shop in El Paso. The owners genuinely care about their craft and make a top-tier brew. The shop has great vibes and is a nice place to relax. Also, I always get my beans from here. They take time to explain the different options for me and always have something unique to try, and then put together a fresh bag with a cool little label that they draw themselves.
It's my first time coming in and had a great experience overall! The flat white coffee was priced at $4, which is a fair price for the quality and taste. The coffee was rich and smooth, with a perfect balance of espresso and milk. The mollete with prosciutto was a highlight of my visit. The presentation was beautiful, and the combination of flavors was delicious. However, the bread could have been a bit softer - it was a tad hard to bite into. Despite this, the prosciutto added a nice salty flavor, and the portion was generous. I'd give this café 8 out of 10. The coffee was excellent, and the food was tasty, but the bread texture was a bit off. I'd definitely recommend this spot to coffee lovers and those looking for a quick bite. Can't wait to go back and try more!
