Crema's Take

This Bakersfield gem pairs genuinely warm, welcoming staff with a curated selection of toffee candies and pastries that feel more thoughtfully crafted than typical candy shop fare. Reviewers rave about the clean, inviting atmosphere and the personal touches—like complimentary samples—that make you feel genuinely valued, not just like another customer passing through. It's the kind of place locals return to monthly, where even a quick stop becomes a bright spot in your day.

DOS: 12/22/2025 Service: OMG the staff was SOOOO nice. You walk in you are greeted with a smile and on this day a free sample of toffee! Yum Food: I got a Peanut Butter toffee candy apples. Chocolate covered Twinkie, Rice Krispy treat, Chocolate covered Oreo Reese's Peanut Butter cup. Everything was SOOOO yummy. I didn't even mind that the candy apple was made with Granny Smith apples (I prefer Fuji) but still quite delicious! Atmosphere: very charming shop downtown. In addition to the many yummy treats, they also had beautiful Christmas decorations for sale. I will definitely be returning and HIGHLY recommend supporting this local business.

As I was heading out of town I wanted to stop here to see what all the hype was about. They have a good selection of toffees but I wanted one that had more toffee rather than cookies or filler. The recommendation was the Caramel Toffee (at room temperature). The toffee varies in cost depending on which kind you get. There isn't a ton in the bag so you are forced to savor it or you could bite the bullet and get a bigger more expensive box to indulge. Almost wish I had. However, the little bag I got was $9 as it was. But honestly, worth it. It is thee very best toffee I've experienced in all my travels. The Caramel Toffee is heaven. Worth checking out this gift shop for all the cute and interesting stuff they carry but definitely leave with some toffee.

Delicious. The shop is nice and clean. The staff is very polite. We try to stop by once a month. Truly a hidden gem. Willy Wonka would be proud.

Different than most candy shops they have class and makes you feel good! I love it. Gives Bakersfield a boost. I hope the whole block gets renovated put better shops. So far has Cafe Smitten, and Aunt Mae's.

I happened to be walking by Aunt Mae's Sweet Tooth shop on 18th Street with a friend. The store front looked cute, so we decided to go inside. We were immediately greeted by the owner, who offered us samples of the milk chocolate toffee. It was crunchy and delicious. The inside of the store is beautiful with custom decorated antiques on display and for sale. They also offer a variety of toffee candies in flavors like milk chocolate, dark chocolate, peanut butter and cookies and cream. I got a huge toffee covered caramel apple to go. It can easily be cut into 8 slices for sharing. It's worth of stop if you're downtown.
