Crema's Take

Belle Epicurean's real strength is its cozy Madrona hideaway vibe and genuinely excellent pastries—croissants and macaroons that justify their prices—making it worth visiting for pastry and atmosphere rather than coffee. Fair warning though: the food pricing can be wildly inconsistent and overpriced on certain items (a $16 brioche sandwich that's mostly air), so order the baked goods and skip the breakfast sandwiches. If you're after a slow sit with good pastries and a friendly crowd, it delivers; if you expect consistent value across the menu, you'll leave frustrated.

What to expect

Strong matcha and tea selection. A slow-sit, laptop-friendly, outdoor seating spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Parking available.

This a cozy little place in Madrona, acting as a nice hole in the wall cafe to chill and get a nice cup of coffee. I especially liked their selection of confectionary items displayed in the front. Overall, it’s a nice regional cafe with about average coffee.

Got a chocolate croissant and two macaroons. Really good price for quality. The seating and atmosphere was great and friendly staff. I sat around for an hour slowly eating and was never bothered, so that was nice. Everything good and clean! Amazing and tasty.
