Crema's Take

Tucked inside a charming independent bookstore in Cambridge, this coffee destination pairs expertly crafted lattes and cold brew with a cozy, literary atmosphere that's perfect for lingering over a book or meeting a friend. The space shines brightest when you can snag a seat on their cute outdoor patio, though fair warning: service can be spotty, and chai consistency seems to be hit-or-miss. If you're willing to embrace the indie coffee shop vibe—quirks and all—you'll find a warm escape that feels less like a caffeine transaction and more like a genuine third place.

Love this place! I come here to read after work and relax. I like to have a chai instead of coffee but it’s just so inconsistent. Sometimes it’s really good but other times it’s legit all milk. And it’s happened enough that I get really put off about ordering to read here and just get a seltzer. Please standardize the ratio! I love it here and just would like to read with a nice cup of hot chai

Love their lattes, but staff was not very friendly. We ordered drinks online and very briefly sat in the patio seats outside with our small dog to give her some water. Not even two minutes later the worker comes out to tell us we can’t have our dog on the outdoor patio because it’s a food service area. It was 40 degrees outside and we were the only ones out there… We mentioned that the sign only says that animals were not allowed inside and that it was confusing and that they might want to update their sign. They didn’t seem to care. Annoying experience.

The atmosphere is charming and cozy, and the coffee was excellent. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. My name was never called, and my drink sat there for over 10 minutes until I realized it was mine—by then, it was cold. I couldn’t help but wonder if the lack of attention was because I didn’t leave a tip. If that’s the case, it’s a pretty unfortunate way to treat customers. Pretty glad I didn’t leave a tip. 💀

A lovely little coffee shop located inside perhaps the cutest bookstore I’ve ever seen. I had an iced coffee and my friend a matcha. She also had a breakfast sandwich and I had a delish glazed pastry with pecans on top. I definitely recommend stopping in and hanging a while, perhaps while flipping thru the pages of your newly purchased book.

Nice vibe—charming atmosphere inside the bookstore and a cute outdoor seating area. The latte was good, but for $8.54 (with oat milk and brown sugar flavor), it wasn’t even a decent size. Definitely overpriced for what you get. Staff was nice though. Where they completely lost me was the lack of convenience: no laptops or iPads allowed on outdoor tables, no public WiFi anywhere, and very few spots inside where you're allowed to use your device. In a coffee shop that feels perfect for reading, working, or studying… what’s the point if you can’t?
