Crema's Take

Marigold Bakeshop is a warmly designed neighborhood hideaway on Pico where the pastries and coffee are genuinely exceptional—think standout pumpkin cheesecake and cinnamon rolls that justify a weekend trip, plus surprisingly stellar sandwiches that many say steal the show. The space itself invites you to linger with a laptop or linger over conversation, striking that rare balance of being both polished enough to feel special and comfortable enough to feel like home. Staff and fellow visitors alike seem to understand this is the kind of place worth returning to again and again.

This place delivers. The pumpkin cheesecake was the standout—creamy, rich, and decadently balanced without feeling heavy. Clearly made with care and restraint. I would absolutely recommend stopping by and would happily come back.

**5/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Marigold Bakeshop Pico LA: Chocolate Cake Worthy of a Perfect Score** Tucked on Pico Blvd just west of the hustle, **Marigold Bakeshop** is the cozy neighborhood gem that’s become my instant obsession 🍫✨. The interior is warm and inviting—soft lighting, wooden counters piled with fresh treats, plants everywhere, and that irresistible smell of butter and cocoa wrapping around you like a hug. The **great patio** out back is shaded and peaceful, with string lights and plenty of tables—perfect for lingering on a sunny LA afternoon. Two weekends in a row, I got their **chocolate cake**, and both times it was pure perfection. Layers of moist, deeply chocolatey sponge, silky ganache frosting that’s rich but not too sweet, and a texture that melts in your mouth. It’s the kind of cake you close your eyes for on the first bite—no dryness, no artificial aftertaste, just balanced, indulgent bliss. One slice is generous enough to share, but good luck convincing yourself to do that. **Street parking** is surprisingly doable (metered spots right out front or easy side streets), staff are warm and quick with recommendations, and the whole place feels like a little escape. I’ve already got my eye on the drinks (that iced lavender latte looks amazing) and sandwiches (turkey & brie calling my name) for next visit. Marigold isn’t flashy—it’s just genuinely excellent baking in a lovely space. If you’re anywhere near Pico-Robertson, do yourself a favor and stop in. This chocolate cake alone earned every star. Can’t wait to work my way through the rest of the menu.

Marigold Bakeshop is such a gem, their coffee is amazing, the sandwiches and salads are consistently fresh and delicious, and on the weekends they have the most incredible cinnamon rolls that are absolutely worth it. Huge shoutout to Jesse for the outstanding customer service; genuinely kind, attentive, and helpful, which really makes the experience special and is the main reason I’d keep coming back. Highly recommend.

The coffee and the pastries are great. But the real winners are the sandwiches on the lunch menu. Absolutely unreal. The staff is friendly and the seating area is really nice to do a little work. I just wish they were open on Mondays and Tuesdays!

Such a hidden gem found and I certainly blamed myself for being bit skeptical about the cute place earlier. This bakeshop was just flawlessly designed that entering it totally gave that homey welcoming ambiance from your neighborhood cafe; honestly loved it a ton and could see myself being a regular. The service further elevated it as the owners, who were a couple, were both so so friendly and genuine. Sitting there for few hours, I could literally see how they're trying to know each consumer! You might need to come early on weekend to still have full selections especially some of their favorites like the cinnamon rolls; yep, I sadly missed it :( . Call me still lucky, I got to try their 'I LOVE CHOCOLATE CAKE' (yessss literally the name!). As that name said, it was SO SO GOOD that you just couldn't hate it! I wasn't even intended to order it as I was indeed not really into chocolate cake , but the person sitting next to me raving about it as his friend made him come for that and he couldn't stop saying how much he's enchanted finding it. Thankfully, I finally followed my gut (and him) ordering it and I was slapped by how decadent it was, being amazingly not overly heavy in texture but so rich in flavor for both the cake and the buttercream. If you don't wanna regret or miss it, better try before doubting! $9 surely was surely worthwhile. Even their other bake goods were as impressive. I got the oatmeal golden raisin cookie and easily was sold. They did offer coffee and tea to come as perfect pairing to your sweet!
