Crema's Take

Luxor Cafe brings genuine warmth to Harvard Square with its beautifully decorated Egyptian-inspired space and staff that goes genuinely out of their way to make you feel welcome. Beyond their excellent traditional coffee, they're known for creative specialty drinks like rose matcha lattes and Middle Eastern–influenced sandwiches that pair perfectly with their pastries—it's the kind of place where you'll want to linger over conversation or work for hours. Whether you're after their viral-worthy Dubai chocolate creations or a quietly excellent espresso in a cozy, family-friendly setting, Luxor delivers on both the coffee craft and the human connection.

Good food, good pastries, good drinks, and just the absolute BEST employees and vibes humanly possible. Everyone working at Luxor goes out of their way to ensure you have an awesome experience there, and the place is always packed because, well, if you know you know. Fantastic atmosphere that makes it feel like a real neighborhood spot. Strong WiFi, which in Boston/Camberville is a HUGE plus given how rare that is, and it’s open mad late, which is also very rare out here. Plus they’re on TooGoodToGo!!! Honestly, no notes, this is now my go-to late night cafe 😀

This Egyptian cafe is so beautifully decorated with ample space of seating. We got the The Harvard Yard and The Mona (I got fried egg on the Harvard yard instead of medium). Both sandwiches were sooo delicious. It’s been hard finding good food in Boston as a person who comes from the restaurant capital of the USA (North Jersey). The chef knows what he’s doing here! The refreshers were also very delicious without added sugar, very refreshing. The ambience is very quiet with everyone respecting each others space and not speaking so loudly (lots of people working or a studying). Highly recommend! Ps - please open a location in NJ

Solid café near Harvard Square with Middle Eastern–inspired drinks and food. Saw this place blow up last summer during the whole Dubai chocolate craze, so I finally stopped by to try a couple of their specialty lattes and some food. Everything I had was solid, just a bit pricier than other cafés around Cambridge. For drinks, I tried the iced baklava latte and the churro latte. At $10, I expected something a little more memorable. The baklava latte had undissolved bits settling at the bottom, and beyond that, it tasted like a regular latte. The churro latte was slightly better hot, but still basically a cinnamon latte with a different name. Food was also on the pricier side, but it’s made in the more professional kitchen next door. Both the sandwich and the Dubai chocolate French toast were great. I especially liked the French toast. The dense pistachio kataifi and chocolate came together in a way that was super sweet and a bit muddy, but the cream served on the side really helped clear things up. Still incredibly heavy, but very satisfying. I’d come back for the French toast once in a while, but probably not for the drinks. Maybe it’s the Harvard premium (they do offer 10% off with a physical student ID), but overall, not my pick for coffee.

It's such a nice and cozy spot. I tried the rose matcha latte, and it was really good—beautifully balanced and not too sweet. I also had one of their sandwiches; it was decent, though the drink stood out more. The atmosphere feels warm and relaxing, a lovely place to sit for a while and unwind
