Crema's Take

Tucked away on the third floor of a Honolulu building, Café LAPIN rewards those who find it with stunning city views and a tastefully decorated space that feels like a hidden gem. Their matcha lattes are exceptional, and they bring real creativity to cold brew with offerings like their Salted Vanilla Cold Foam version, all complemented by Japanese bakery pastries and sandwiches that make it easy to linger. The genuinely welcoming staff and chill atmosphere make it the kind of place that quickly becomes a neighborhood favorite for both coffee lovers and anyone seeking a peaceful spot to connect.

This café is so cute and has a lovely view of Honolulu from the third floor! It’s hard to find at first, but once you’re there, you’ll find that it’s a beautiful, tastefully decorated, and extremely clean spot. There is an elevator available if needed. I had the salted vanilla matcha latte and I can confidently say that it was the BEST matcha I’ve had on island. It was extremely dark and only slightly sweet (the perfect amount for me). I’ve tried a ton of matchas all over the island, and this one was by far my favorite. It cost $9.16 after tax, which is on the higher end for matcha but is definitely worth it based on the strength of the drink. There were plenty of pastries for sale by the cashier, but I didn’t try any. I’d like to come back soon and get a few (definitely the NY cheesecake, at the very least). Parking is at a very small lot at the back of the building. It is paid valet, unless you’re getting to-go. I definitely want to dine in next time and think it’s worth it to pay for parking. There’s plenty of seating inside, and some outside on the lanai as well. Finally, the owner was very quiet, and he seemed like a sweet man. It’s clear he takes great pride in his business. Thank you so much, and I can’t wait to come back!

This quickly became my favorite café in the neighborhood. Their matcha latte is hands down the best I had in 2+ months in Honolulu. The staff are genuinely kind and welcoming. I love that it’s tucked away on the third level of the plaza, slightly hidden from the street, with plenty of shaded outdoor seating. It is a calm, cozy place to take a break.

Cafe Lapin was a nice coffee shop experience on a busy Sunday afternoon. More seating inside would have been nice, but the vibes were chill and coffee well above average.

My friend and I were looking for a cafe where we could relax and chat. We decided to go in because we liked the atmosphere of the cafe from the outside. I ordered the Salted Vanilla cold Foam Matcha and the Bolognese Cheese Toast. Both drinks and toast were delicious and perfect for chatting time with friends! The toast tasted nostalgic and warmed my heart. It was so cozy and chatty that I ordered more fruit tarts! Forgot to take the all-important photo! The cakes are not too sweet and tasty! They use properly fresh fruit! This place makes you want to come back again and again.

Cute cafe at the 808 center. Got to enjoy their matcha latte and salted vanilla cold brew coffee which was delicious. Also serves japanese bakery desserts and sandwiches like egg salad and katsu sando. Owner is from Shizuoka Japan. This gives me my Japan vibes which I miss and love dearly. Definitely will be back!
