The Spot Cafe

Crema's Take
“Tucked into Bed-Stuy, this beloved neighborhood gathering spot pairs thoughtfully crafted coffee drinks like their signature Spot Latte with vibrant Caribbean-inspired cuisine—think perfectly fluffy mangu, crispy tostones, and fried chicken that locals can't stop raving about. What really sets it apart is the genuine warmth; the staff treats regulars like family, the sunny windows invite lingering, and there's zero pressure to rush, making it equally perfect for a solo coffee moment or a leisurely breakfast with friends. It's the kind of place where the owners greet passersby by name and the food tastes like it's made with real care rather than just efficiency.”

1st time ordering& the food was so good. Rice was flavorful , fluffy & moist. Fried boneless chicken was amazing. Tostones was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed everything (stew chicken, beans 🫘 😋) the food was flavorful & not salty. I can't wait to order again & come for breakfast.
Curiously came over because I was starving the the reviews looked amazing. Stayed for the service, kindness and killer food. Had the mangu and they substituted salami for me which was super sweet. Their iced dirty chai was also wonderfully refreshing and a perfect pairing with the platter!
So glad I found this place! The Mangu Tres Golpes was amazing! 10/10. The hospitality was definitely everything. This isn't a business that's looking to just take your money and send you on your way. Lu cares enough to make sure you have the best experience you can have. This is a business that aims to keep Ralph Avenue alive and I'm all for it! Oh and the coffee??? Delicious! Lu's Horchata Latte is a hit!
My day just gets better and better. This coffee shop experience was so dope. I just wanted a good iced coffee and a bagel and stumbled upon ‘The Spot’ and I got The Spot Latte and Bedstuy Bec on a roll with the recommended special sauce. It’s such a vibe here omg and hearing the story of the cafe from Luis made it even more special! I devoured my food and drink as I sat next to the window appreciating life. If you need your day to get better, absolutely come here!!!
Delicious food, sunny window, no rush, friendly staff. It felt homey in there and it’s clearly a beloved neighborhood spot. They would say hello to passersby and chat up neighbors. I got Papi’s Fried Chuleta. Got a good portion that had a nicely crisp pork cutlet that, while a tad dry, was packed with flavor. There was a good rice portion in the center, a small side salad, and a cup of hearty soup. Not sure why, but to be nice, they also gave me the extra treat of sweet plantains. I absolutely adore sweet plantains, so this was quite lovely. I spent a peaceful lunch there on a relaxed weekday afternoon. Will be coming back and highly recommend!
