Odd Bird Cafe

Crema's Take
“Tucked in Corvallis, this cafe strikes a lovely balance between approachable comfort and creative ambition, earning fans for everything from yuzu pistachio toast to perfectly executed fried chicken sandwiches and homemade pop tarts. The vibe leans toward leisurely, family-friendly mornings where you can linger over both traditional espresso drinks and more adventurous specialty beverages, though service can be slow when they're busy. It's the kind of place where thoughtful plating and ingredient choices (like those distinctly good homefries) suggest the kitchen cares about doing familiar things just a little bit differently.”

I was looking for something different while visiting Corvallis and I found it at the odd bird cafe. This meal was as good as it looks. The yuzu pistachio toast was especially delightful. Due to allergies I had to ask for the fromage-blanc to be removed, but I'm pretty sure that would take it to the next level! Now, I would recommend they give the place a spring cleaning around the windows, it may just be the historical window seals but something could probably be done.
My wife and I love our breakfast dates to the Odd Bird Cafe, the food has been for us prepared well, with a variety of options for your level of hunger always hot or cold as the dish requires. The servers, who are friendly and efficient as the crowd allows, with a clean and comfortable environment. The bathrooms are usually clean and available for use as well. Prices on dishes vary, some are right on others are slightly high, but all in all we return for the overall experience and food. Consistency matters in food. The Odd Bird meets this for us.
I was really impressed by the fried chicken sandwich and fries. It was extremely flavorful and fried to perfection. The hot sauce was hot, but not too hot and I liked that it didn’t have a flavor that overpowered the chicken. The house made shoe string fries were delicious and well seasoned. I also had a fresh biscuit which was good, but a little pricey for the size. The service was fine and the seating was comfortable. I definitely look forward to returning.
I was really disappointed with my experience at Odd Bird Café. We waited a long time just to be seated, and once we finally got to our table, it took forever for our food to arrive. Even the water was unpleasant, tasting like it came from a rusted pipe. I ordered the original eggs Benedict with ham, and it was easily the worst I’ve ever had. The eggs were way overdone, the ham was extremely dry, and the English muffins were barely toasted. To make matters worse, the hollandaise sauce was sour and completely off. The one positive was that our server was very nice and tried their best, but unfortunately, the food and overall experience fell far short. I would not recommend this café if you’re looking for quality food or timely service.
Took my daughter here for a birthday brunch. The food was excellent, nicely displayed. We share a homemade pop tart and it was fabulous! The homefries were really unique and so good. Overall, food was wonderful. Our waitress was good with checking in from time to time. Good experience!
