Crema's Take

This Camarillo spot punches above its weight as a casual all-you-can-eat café where you can build your own plate from a rotating lineup of quality ingredients—think chile rellenos, grilled items, and fresh salads—all for under $12. The vibe is genuinely welcoming for families and groups who want to linger over breakfast or dinner without the usual café pretension, though recent management changes have trimmed down the space. Staff genuinely seem to care about keeping things clean and friendly, making it feel less like a cafeteria and more like a neighborhood gathering spot where good food and company are the real draws.

Pretty alright; used to be way better. They blocked off half the cafe after new management took over. They had this really cool and tasty coffee machine that made all sorts of coffees and hot beverages for you. They used to have a lot more variety of food but now it is more so take it or leave it. Food is solid, not the greatest, but definitely good for a campus cafeteria.

This is an all you can eat school cafeteria. I have been to a few other state universities and this is better then them. I recommend the taco bar and the grill. There are a lot of different foods that rotates through the week. The Chinese food is good too but it is available only once a week. For breakfast I like the breakfast burritos. The islands Café is open for breakfast lunch and dinner during the school semester but has limited hours when the school is on break. There is a fee to park on campus and parking is not very close to the cafe.

Great breakfast and dinner! All you can eat for less than $12 person. You can tip them as you walk out. Staff is AWESOME! Clean. Food varies and it is delicious. They have from Chile regenos to salmon to chicken to create your our pasta. Of course, every day is different. It’s buffet style but BETTER because it is prepared for you there. You want a veggie omelette 1st time, then 2nd serving you want meat omelette. Go for it. You eat it - you order it. It is not like a regular buffet where food is left. This is a very well organized, clean and great foods. It has salads and sandwiches for those with other eating habits. Ice cream and pastries until your tummy is full. My favorite, Coffee and soft drinks all you can drink. Please be kind and take all your plates and trash where it belongs. You walk-in and serve yourself. Staff is amazing and this is the college cafeteria. We take care of them. We are nice and polite. Visit and enjoy. Parking - please pay for parking. Parking is monitored. Hours for cafeteria start in August 2023. Contact cafeteria for hours of operation. Unfortunately, they are not open during the summer. It’s okay because the food and service is great. I’ll wait for them.

Went here for the Transfer orientation day few weeks ago. I enjoyed their food style buffet. I ended up getting the red enchiladas with beans and rice. Not too bad. I enjoyed it and might try the pizza next time. Good workers they definitely hustle. I definitely thinking about getting a cafeteria plan this fall.

Best place to eat at CI !! Islands Café features quality ingredients, a variety of delicious menu items at multiple dining stations and your choice of comfortable seating environments. Spicy tuna rolls, Baja fish tacos, vegetarian options, pizzas and pastas done the way you want, custom sandwiches. Anytime they offer a sandwich or a pizza or anything else featuring prosciutto or Boursin cheese, I'm on it. They even brought back a pizza I requested and named it in my honor to my absolute delight. These are restaurant quality meals. I haven't seen anything quite like this on any other college campus. The short-order grill is extremely popular with students, where they can order burgers or crispy chicken wraps and the occasional French dip or crabcake po'boys. Crispy bacon and egg on English muffin for breakfast? What more do you want?
